I'm excited. It's a fantasy for me, being that it's $500 and is launched the same month my house gets invaded by a little one, but I preordered it nonetheless.

The nail in the coffin is the Extra Four FM5 Cars exclusive to the "Day One" Edition of the Xbox One.

It's a dick move, but damn it...it worked. You don't have to pay until it ships, so get your preorders in people.

Yeah definitely same here. In 24 hours I have gone from Xbox One to PS4 and back to Xbob One again... Although I can't say that Bob will have the same opinion as you when it comes to the cloud...

Open Wheel Racing is such a big deal!  Thanks Lou and Beef for so diligently farming all these details and bringing them home for the rest of us.

Now that FM5 has charmed me, much like I figured (was scared that?) it would, my attention is going to Fanatec.  It seems like the ball is in their court to make their hardware compatible?  I'm not sure who really should own that, but I really really "need" some details about this.  I find it really hard to go back to the controller after using a wheel so much and I sure as hell won't buy another wheel.

EDIT:  Nevermind, they actually touch on this in one of the videos above.  There is a new wheel.  A Thrustmaster.  Damn it.

Is anyone even bothering with details on GT6?  From what I've read it's sounds mostly like overhauled tech (physics, graphics, suspension, etc) and not so much an increase in content.  Those are all great things, sure, but without rivals, car clubs, design, etc, there is just absolutely no reason to even look at it.  Meanwhile Forza 5 continues growing with the whole cloud integration.  "Drivatar" is a dumb word but it sounds so magnificently brilliant.  The only win I can give GT6 right now is that it won't require a new console to play it.  

It's been said before but I'll say it again, y'all are awesome and I'm so happy to be a part of this club (despite my inactivity lately).  I can't wait to dive into FM5 with you.

The Granturismo series has some great cars, tracks, and physics, but it lacks the "fun factor" that Forza has (IMO of course).  I played GT1, 2, 3, & 4 soup to nuts, and it was more about progressing skill (licensing & moving up the tiers).  While online MP hit with GT5, it didn't look or sound as good as Forza.  It also doesn't have the 100% custom paint shop that FM has...  I do not have a PS3, so I did not play GT5 and I don't know if the gameplay was at all like GT4...

On the wheels...  It would be STUPID if the Fanatec wheels are not compatible with the Xbox One.  I really hope it will be.  If not, I may actually opt out of Xbox One and go PS4 and Granturismo again.  I have $500 invested in my wheel set up.  I will NOT be buying another one.  Especially not from Thrustmaster.  Logitech maybe, but not Thrustmaster.

3 things:

1. The new rev counter seems a little weird for me

2. I love the detail that they have put into the game. you can even see the air brakes constantly adjusting on the front of the Huyara to provide stability. It is just amazing...

3. Is that a tire temperature monitor next to the rev counter????

I agree 100%, but it isn't enough to overtake my weakness and desire for the XboxOne.  The super tempting part is that going GT6 means getting (or keeping) a PS3.  It'll be years before we see a GT game on the PS4, with porting GT6 over being only a weak "maybe" right now.

They have already made it clear that 360 peripherals won't work due to a significant change in the wireless connectivity.  The open question is whether or not we could USB our wheels in or if Fanatec will kick out a dongle.

Does Thrustmaster suck?  I haven't touched a Thrustmaster device since X-Wing.

You got it...  It looks good, and it's priced in line with Fanatec and other high-end racing wheels, but.....  It's thrustmaster!!!

Clarification...if not maybe some more confusion...but apparently it was incorrect that you need the Day One Edition of the Xbox One to get the extra FM5 stuff.

You just need the Day One Edition of Forza 5.
