I has a new car!

As you all know, I've been looking for a new car the past few months and yesterday I found one. I had a heck of a time finding something that truly called out to me. I mean i wanted something that was proven be a performer so i started looking at this: but i couldn't find one in s color I liked, so I kept looking. Then another car caught my eye. I talked to the owner (a very nice Nigerian Prince) and agreed to wire him 50k from my bank account. unfortunately the plane bringing it overseas crashed and all was lost. Put in a claim PayPal, still waiting to hear back.

Then one day, "THE CAR" popped up on the internets. After a quick call I was ready to test drive it. After the test drive I just knew I had have her. So Saturday I signed on the dotted lines and made her mine. Haven't got to do anything to her as I seriously bought her, put her in the garage and went to work. Anyways, here she is She is an 08 Volvo c30 t5. 6 speed manual with the r design interior. I'm in love. Even my wife was impressed with my new "mistress." Anyways, i just wanted to show her off! What do you think?

I like it!  It looks really clean and it looks good in that color.  How many miles?

Thanks guy. She really needs washed and waxed which will happen before she hits daily duty. She has 50k on her. I'm very happy. She's a 2.5 liter turbocharged 5cylinder that just loves to pull from 2k to red line. Super quiet (undecided on that) and rides like a dream. Now just waiting to sell the explorer so i can switch the plates over.

Nice!  I love the 5 cylinder.  Has a nice sound to it.

Yeah, i was almost dead set on the Speed3. I actually drove one and decided that's what i wanted. I had looked at a few in person but after doing research on them, I was seeing a trend of motors blowing with just light modding. Then I looked at build logs and these guys were still blowing motors. Go to the mazdaspeed forum and look around, every second or third thread is a "i blew my motor" thread. No joke. Now I  don't plan to go balls to the walls crazy with modding my car but I want to be comfortable that something as simple as an intake isn't going to grenade my motor. The Volvo on the other hand, as long as you don't go hog wild, works great with common upgrade parts. Sure I'm not going to break the 300hp mark but that's not what I'm after.  I'm actually planning on getting the factory polestar tune on it that puts me within 14 hp of ms3 territory. It's factory warranted so I'm pretty confident in its ability. Looking at the c30's reliability record really put me at ease. The 2.5 liter is Volvo's flagship motor and they are well known for hitting the 300k mark easily. The suspension has a lot of Ford and Mazda support as well. Plus it's a little different. All in all I feel happier with this than I would with a speed 3.

That sucks about grenading motors.....

My only issue with the Volvo is that we don't get the Polestar version of the C30 here in the states....  

That said, it's a really good car, and should serve you well...

We did get it. There's one about 2 towns over from me.

Only the Graphics, not the drivetrain (as far as I know)..

There were 250 brought over to the US. They are the rebel blue and sporting the 2.5 putting out 250 horse. Mine is stock with 227 hp. Maybe there's another i haven't seen tho.

Are you talking about the polestar pcp? Yeah, that car is crazy. 400 hp and awd. Yeah, didn't get that over here.
