Beef's racing status... Empty Beef's racing status...

Post by beefsupreme42 Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:06 pm

Hey guys, I have been thinking about whats been going on over the past few weeks and I figured it would be best if I sat out the next few weeks for the series races. I have been even more of a a magnet for bad situations lately, so I would like to tone it down a bit over the next week or 2... I would still like to participate in some small pick-up races to help me improve my racing, but I don't want to screw anybody up in the series races. I am also going to avoid public lobbies until I am confident with my ability to keep it clean - I don't want to give U2SC a bad reputation because I can't keep my bumpers out of other people's cars... I am hoping that this will teach me to change my racing style to something more clean. I sincerely apologize for everything that has gone down lately and I hope that you guys can see past it.

Listen Beef, that was never our intention. We want you to continue racing, we were just asking you to work on your control.

Beef, you can't improve if you sit on the sidelines.

You're a little impetuous at times. You just need to relax and be patient. Gunning for the win is fine and all. And maybe a last corner aggressive move may be "somewhat" acceptable.

Just take it easy out there. Nobody here is perfect. When you're on their rear, just wait it out. A mistake will happen and you just be ready to pounce on it. You don't need to make high risk moves that affect others and potentially yourself.

That's about it dude. Just wait your time and you will find openings. That or scream at whoever's in front to move.

Marm is correct. Do not go anywhere. If you want to practice capitalizing on when people make mistakes you are welcome to follow me around for 15-20 minutes. You're sure to see numerous errors and maybe even an emergency services crew, armed with Jaws of Life and a stack of fireproof blankets.

lol! this is hilarious!

I would just like to sit out from the series races for at least a week until I can learn to control the car a bit more. I will still be participating in the small 3-4 lap races for practice with this, but I don't want to risk screwing anybody else up in a race that actually counts. Its just been so crazy over the last week that I don't want anything else to happen like these situations. I feel that this is the best decision because I think I will be so nervous out on the track that I would be guaranteed to make a few mistakes, and of course this would jeopardize the chances of other members winning races. I think a week to cool down a bit should help me out

Mistakes happen. It's a matter of intent.

We know you as a hard charger putting your nose where it shouldn't. That's what's being asked, is that you curtail that. And as long as you're putting in that effort, nobody can fault you.

Others (read: Public Lobbies) may think otherwise. Put it this way. Follow Costanza. Do the exact opposite of what you would normally do. Then you'll be fine. Smile

If I did this, wouldn't I have to drive faster to see how much time I could save? Very Happy

I appreciate that you guys are giving me what is now probably a 43rd chance to correct my racing style. I know that I can take joking around a little too far...

It's actually a 42nd chance... You don't what to know what happens if we make it to 43! Wink

Keep on racing... Just settle down and take your time. You can still win races by being patient and waiting for opportunities, but you won't win them all.

Beef... Take a page out of Mark's book... Be patient... Wait for them to make a mistake... While I'm no saint when it comes to contact (like Wednesday night), I usually wait for my chance to pass. Sometimes you have to brake a little early to stay out of someone's back end. Sometimes you have a to wait 1,2 eve n3 laps for your chance. It actually takes more skill to be patient and set up good passing chances than it does to force your way to the front. Mark is not only our fastest member, he is our cleanest as well...

I don't think any of us are. We all try. And that's what this club is for. Those that try (this is by no means a backhanded shot at beef) are all we want in the club.

Exactly right Marm... None of us are perfect... Well... Except maybe Mark on the track, but he uses black magic so it doesn't really count...

There is no need to take a break Beef. Just keep it as clean as you can. the slate is clean....

Locking this thread now, since we all just need to move on...
