February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
This will be a refreshing change. With slower cars my mistakes are magnified so it forces me to actually put some thought into my line. Discuss!

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I fargin' hate this track!!!!!!!!!
I don't have a car yet. Most likely the E-Type cuz I got one. Beef was on fire when it came to the practice sessions. Don't even know if I can make it this week.

There are a couple corners that I have to master if I want to contend this month.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I already know I'm out of contention this month.
Best I could do was a 2:09 or 07 (I think 9). Beef was ahead with 2:05 or something of that magnitude.

I think my best lap was a mid/low 2:04 a week or so ago, so I'm feeling pretty confident right now

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I'm really looking forward to this series, best lap last week in testing was 2:03.9xx I have yet to duplicate that one, but mid to low 2:04 seems to come easy for the 53 Vette
My 57 T-bird tune runs mid 2:04 as well. I'm thinking that car will be shared in the club garage tonight for those who want to try it out.

So Case, are you going to show up for your own series? Seems everyone bails when their series comes up.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
so I tried and I tried but the best I got was a 2:07 in the tuning shop last night. Put a lot of time into trying to tune but kept going from understeer to oversteer back to understeer.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
Before I left for work today I tried another car and ran a 2:06 clean on the third lap with a base tune. For some reason, I'm obsessing over this series. Since we can't change cars throughout the series I'm trying to make sure I pick the right one.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
tonights results (we did 14 laps):
its kinda hard to read, so if you are having trouble reading it, the results go like this:
1. beef..........250 cali..........2:02.462............28:49.522
2. doli...........porsche 550.....2:03.126...........29:01.077
3. frank..........Bel Air............2:05.776............29:44.002
4. reus...........'53 corvette....2:05.821............29:52.845
5. rag............hudson...........2:11.058............TBD
I forgot to change the end of race timer from 2 minutes to 5, so rag wasn't able to finish. I will be getting an estimate for his total time soon.

How did you get a 2:02 in that beef? I couldn't get past 2:07.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I didn't make it home on time but I spectated the last couple laps & beef was pretty damn smooth looking, didnt see any sudden corrections & he used the whole track... which I think is the key to this circuit with low powered cars!

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I could barely manage anything under a 2:04 in practice... I guess racing with somebody chasing me really helps. I know I take the 2 corners at the bottom of the hill really differently from everybody, so that might be what really sprung me ahead. I will upload the replay to my storefront so you can take a look at the line I was using on that lap (I think it was around #10)Lowflyinmx3 wrote:How did you get a 2:02 in that beef? Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I battled frank and his bel air for several laps after he had a racing incident on the first lap ( not sure why he fell behind), but his superior driving
skill defeated my better car/tune in the end.
I bested him in the 3 lap qualifier for my first podium finish of any kind in this league.
but 14 laps always sorts out the wheat from the chaff.
I finished 2nd in an after race friendly in R3 Audi R8 LMS.
but that doesnt really count, as there are some wild builds going out there in those races.
I wanted to race the hudson also, but I was just so slow in it I didnt want to get in everyones way twice or more in the race.

You'll get there Asus, just takes practice. Keep at it, you'll be first in no time.

Re: February Week #1- Burnese Alps Reverse
I'm going to try to run tonight, but a little nervous with my internet service going on and off all evening. Related note, could we suggest the multi-heat format for every month, or some variation thereof? Man I loved that setup, and wouldn't be so paranoid that tonight is going to end poorly for me (probably on the penultimate lap).
Asus - Like I said before, most of us have been racing online with FM4 for a year now, so don't get discouraged. Looks like you've made up a good bit of time already. What assists do you typically use, if any?
