Fanatec CSR Tuning
Figured I'd start a thread for tuning the Fanatec CSR wheels.... I'll start with a few items...
At first I was running with Steering set to Simulation mode... After a brain fart last night leaving it in normal mode (I do my base tuning with the controller cause it's faster with the settings), I noticed that with the steering set to Normal mode, I was getting more "realistic" feedback, control and faster lap times... Try it, you may like it....
ABS vibration - I love this, but I have it set to 50... I use it as an indicator to where I am in the brake pedal.
Force Feedback - Set to 50... For me anything else is too much....
I have the rotation set to default which Forza sets to 270d and I do not use any accelerator on the wheel movement.
I'm not sure of the other settings, but I do know I need to upgrade my FW.... I'm at 7.01 right now... Anyone updated to the newer FW yet?

Re: Fanatec CSR Tuning
Hopefully my wife will grant me some 'leave' tonight, so I can finally hook wheel up to computer.
I'm going to try the 'Normal' setting in game, I wasn't sure if it was just a getting used to thing, or me, but it seems very 'twitchy', so will see if adjusting that helps. I turned down FF to about 50 as well....this thing is ridiculously strong, felt like it was about to beat me and steal my wallet. Haven't tried the ABS thing...will give that a look as well. Pretty much everything else is default.

I used that to update the FW on my wheel...Idk if you've noticed lou but have you heard a slightly loud whining noise coming from the wheel when you connect itto the xbox? this FW fixes that for one...
I currently have the SEN to off, drift at off, spr and dpr set to 0 and everything else default and I run with normal steering and this works best for me. I think I read somewhere that it's better to reverse the wheel FFB and ingame FFB. so if you have 50 wheel FFB, set the wheel back to 100 and the ingame FFB to 50. I havent tried it myself but maybe that'll feel better, idk though!

Re: Fanatec CSR Tuning
I have all the odds and ends set to 0.
My FF is set to 60, 100 is fun to mess with but is way too unrealistic.
I have ABS back to 60 I believe and I also don't have any accelerated steering.
My SEN is set to 250 normally.
I need to update my firmware because mine does that whining noise when I connect. That and I am always configuring my H-shifter, major PITA. Hopefully find time to do this before next week lol.

Ahh smart man. Now all I have to do is hope I can get internet on my laptop. Ever since we switched from Verizon to Comcast my laptop doesn't want to work for some reason. Grrr

Re: Fanatec CSR Tuning
You don't need an internet connection to do the FW update.... Just download it to a flash drive or something and transfer it to your laptop...
