May community monthly class
Just saw an event called trucker's drag. Sounds pretty fun . No may KOTT though

I think I will not get the Unicorn this time... Drift... but good luck to all of you.
T10 Sidefx points at the moment 52.482 in a SMART and he did only half track.

Re: May community monthly class
I don't think I'll participate either. I don't really know how to drift (drive badly?) and don't want to put the hours in this weekend. I'd rather just race! There will be other chances to earn unicorns...Insanefrank wrote:I think I will not get the Unicorn this time... Drift... but good luck to all of you.

+2 I'm out...
While it takes skill to drift a car like pro drifters do (controlled oversteer at high speeds w/ precision), I don't get it. I can't really even watch it.
Re: May community monthly class
This does sound fun. I like the drag events because they're quick and it's fairly easy to rack up credits. Nice twist with the trucks too!beefsupreme42 wrote:Just saw an event called trucker's drag. Sounds pretty fun . No may KOTT though

Re: May community monthly class
The first bounty hunter challenge for may is up. Its a drift event and right now they are using the smart car and only drifting past the halfway point on the track. Looks like I have no chance with this one.

Re: May community monthly class
I tried out the Ford Van for this one and it was pretty fun until I couldnt break the 80k points...so I just resorted to a better car...This is going to be impossible for me if he decides to drift the entire course.

Re: May community monthly class
From what they wrote in the latest "week in review" on the forza forums, it sounds like he could blow everybody away if he really wanted to. They also wrote that he probably won't give it his best because he wouldn't want to make everyone angry with a score that was impossible to beat.
Long story short, hes going to take it easy on us. I just hope I can set a respectable score, right now I can't stop spinning the car and hitting walls

If you aren't using normal steering to drift, it helps a lot. Sim steering and drifting just doesnt work with me at all. Seems like T10 has some serious Forza players...like the other dude who did the autocross challenge, he ended up doing an all out run with the car TPR b0x used and he ended up like rank 30ish.

Anything RWD with a decently long wheelbase is always good for stable drifting. I still have yet to figure out how to tune for "points drifting"

Re: May community monthly class
I've been drifting the Transit SSV ....granted I don't have a great score, but it's still fun!
Hopefully the Top Secret Supra will arrive in day or two so I can try drifting that...
Just put up a (for the moment) unicorn winning score of 54 659...with a van...pretty sweet. Will put it up in the garage if anyone wants to give it a run.

T10 SIDEFX just improved his score to 77,145. Looks like I'm not going to be able to beat him, but I know we have some people in the club who can!

Re: May community monthly class
I've been working on this all day....and pretty sure I'm tapped out....I'm about 10K short no matter what I do...the leaderboard cars are wicked fast and get sideways no problem, I just can't find another 10K for the life of me.
The one plus from this is that I managed to beat his first time in a van, that I tuned myself (with help of calculator), and finally I have a feel for drifting...still not great at it, but have a 'feel'.

Re: May community monthly class
I put a Lancia 037 in the garage for the Autumn Fallout rivals event. It accelerates well and handles pretty good, too. You can break really late for most corners because the breaks are good. I was able to get a 1:37.2xx in it

Re: May community monthly class
Ok the latest bounty challenge is out! warcryFIN posted a 1:45.537 for the Easy Racers Challenge which is good enough for #610 on the leaderboard ! Looks like we are all going to have to work together to get some cars tuned for this event. Who thinks they could help us all out and put some tunes in the club garage?

Re: May community monthly class
Let me check it out when I get home... Depending on the car/class/etc I'll see what I can do... The thing about that high on the LB is that there are 1-5 cars that can do it...
Re: May community monthly class
Its B class before 1970 I think. I tried a Lotus Cortina tune (it takes the top spots on the leaderboards) and the best I could get was a 1:37.xxx
Edit: sorry, I meant 1:47.xxx

Re: May community monthly class
hmmmmmm..... I may already have a car that qualifies... On my SF there is a tune for a Corvair Monza (my Yenko Stinger tune)... Try that one for now... I will have a look in a few hours...
Re: May community monthly class
I'm close. My best after a few laps clean 1:46,2 dirty 1:45,8. I will share my Lotus tomorrow.

I did some laps with that car last night beef...it's amazing!!
Can't remember where I ended up, but still feels like I'm leaving lots 'out there'....that or the car is just that solid that it's got me overconfident.

Re: May community monthly class
AMAZING tune on that 037 beef!!!! I love it... I was able to post a 0:01:38.978 last night with it and it's got more in it. That posted time was a lap where I almost flipped twice and know I lost a second or two here and there (set me as your rival if you want some entertainment )! GREAT JOB MAN!!!
I tweaked my 05 Mustang GT and was able to run a 01:41.xxx, but It can't touch your 037 tune! Cheers!!!!!

Re: May community monthly class
On a side note, is the NSX-R GT a Unicorn? If so, I think it's just a bit unfair that a Unicorn car is SOOOOO dominant on the LB for this one! I will tray and tune a non-uni NSX-R for this to see what it can do, but I doubt I can come up with anything that is better than Beef's 037.. Whattttta Tune!!
Re: May community monthly class
Brakes are really good on that lancia. On the two left turns after the covered bridge, I found myself braking about .5 seconds before I started turning left, and i was still grazing the edge of the road perfectly.
