Re: May community monthly class
Actually the point with the drift cars is to have insanely close gear ratios so that you can spin the tires at all speeds in most gears. If I'm not mistaken (drifters please correct me) but controlling your drift is a combination of entry speed, gear choice and throttle control!

if you grab any of the drift tunes off the SF usually they're tuned for "points" drifting, and if you check the telemetry, they're usually running about 55 psi both front and rear to keep the car sliding all the time and that makes them handle like crap. I stopped buying drift tunes off the SF when I caught on...

Re: May community monthly class
The next bounty for this month will be from club D2NR (I think that id Dirt tuned racing) meaning that if my assumption of the club name is correct, the prize car will be a d-type jag. the livery on it is hideous, but that car accelerates like nothing else in its class (except maybe the aston dbr1 )

Re: May community monthly class
I just found out about the next bounty hunter challenge. It will be the Autumn Fallout challenge and the prize car will be a D Type Jag. The best time right now is a 1:36.9. I ran a full second better than that in the lancia 037 that I have in the club garage. Good luck to everybody!

Guess I gotta find 2 seconds. ;-)
Re: May community monthly class
F1SH0 has improved his time (but not by much) to a 1:36.723. So far it looks like I am still safe for this one. Congrats to frank and mark who have pretty much secured the bounty car already! The times that you guys posted are great

Re: May community monthly class
On the FM4 thread it says he has settled on using the 370z, so it looks like it will be tough for him to beat any time below maybe a 1:36.3...

I've gotta beat this one... I'm interested in the car...
BTW... Any decision on the VIP rivals car this month?

Re: May community monthly class
He just updated his time again to a 1:36.550. We have until thursday to beat this guy so grab frank's NSXR GT from the club garage and give it a try!
And lou, I was looking on some of the posts in the FM4 forums and some people think there might not be a unicorn given out for this month. it will either be that or T10 will decide which one they feel like giving out without making a poll...

Re: May community monthly class
I was able to put up a 0:01:37.294 last night... The lap was far from perfect and I know I have a Second or more left in that car... I was too tired to continue, but I will be running against Southern or Beef now since they do not have ghosts (I HATE ghosts)... I will also turn mine off moving forward. This way you can choose me as a rival and not have to race the ghost. It's nice to have that option!
GREAT TUNE FRANK... That car is truly INSANE!!!!

Its probably a good thing that I don't have a ghost, the line I take is usually terrible!BiggLou55 wrote:I will be running against Southern or Beef now since they do not have ghosts (I HATE ghosts)

Your lines are not crap posting times like that!
I will be trying to post better times with both the Lancia and the NSX, but that NSX is SWEET and SMOOOOOOTH!!! The Lancia is FAST and LIVELY!! Both are EXCELLENT!
Re: May community monthly class
That reminds me, I adjusted the caster angle like you told me to and it really improved the way the car rides. I will send an updated version to the club garage the next time I am online. Thanks for the tip!BiggLou55 wrote:I will be trying to post better times with both the Lancia and the NSX, but that NSX is SWEET and SMOOOOOOTH!!! The Lancia is FAST and LIVELY!! Both are EXCELLENT!

Oh sweet!! that means the wheel will be that much better! Thanks Beef!
Re: May community monthly class
It probably won't be updated in the club garage until wednesday. I don't have much time to get on the Xbox during the week other than that.

It also makes taking the last corner easier. You can take it at 145 to 150 mph with the new tune

We have 2 more days to beat this guy, so I will be updating my lancia as soon as I get home today. Go ahead and try out the new tune, it should produce a pretty good time

I will disagree on the ghosts. That's one of the best ways to learn. Yeah, you can watch the replay. But racing that ghost really helps. You can learn what others are doing, see where you're losing time, see where you're gaining time, etc.
Aside from the "pressure", it's a great tool. I for one love it. However, if there was an option to not race ghosts, that'd be good.
As an example, Lou, you are braking too early for turn 5 (the long left). I know I gained a lot of ground from you there. And at the uphill section, I'm guessing you let up(?), you lost more ground there. Without a ghost, I wouldn't be able to point this out to you. And you might not be able to see where you are losing time.
Granted, I do watch replays as well. Gives an idea of what I could/ should be doing.

Re: May community monthly class
Sometimes the ghosts are distracting and can obscure your vision, especially on corners and autocross. I generally think they're helpful for reasons marm stated. It would be nice to have the option to turn them off though.
