Yeah it does. I can't wait for the car pack to be released. Something tells me that the Porsches should do pretty well in A and S class.

SWViper for planning the August Series (for those of us who purchase the Porsche Pack).

Anybody not planning on picking this up?

Ferrari built the 288 GTO to race in a Class B series back in the 80's. Well, only Porsche and Ferrari ever 'entered' the series and so it was scrapped. Porsche put the 959 in the remaining A class rally championship for a few races. The 288 GTO has always been, and remains the sexiest looking Ferrari EVER imo

From the 288 GTO wiki page:
The Ferrari GTO was built to compete in the new Group B Race series and a minimum of 200 cars were required for homologation. However as only Ferrari and Porsche, with their 959, entered, the series was soon abandoned leaving just Group A Rally championship. The Porsche 959 (as the Porsche 961) only raced three times in Group B, but the 288 GTO never raced and all 272 cars built remained purely road cars.

OHHHHHHH YEAH!!!!

The 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997) is coming to Forza 4. This car is the closest thing to an actual race car that you can buy. Gotta love that orange paint too.

Yes it is... It's my favorite "ass-hanger" that Porsche has made in the last 20 years... I still think the Cayman/Boxster could be a better car if Porsche didn't intentionally handicap them. Not saying the rear-engine 911 series sucks (because they don't even in the least bit) but the mid-engined Caymam/Boxster just have natural ability... moving that AMAZING piece of Porsche engineering (the flat six) in front of the rear wheels, is just that much better! At least IMHO anyway!

The 928 is still one of my all-time favorite cars, so I'm hoping for it as well...

Even though they sucked stock, I'm hoping for the 924... Would make for some interesting lower class spec racing... Very Happy

LOL....

The one that I love is the early/mid 90's 928 GTS... The rest are so so... There were less than 3000 928GTS models produced worldwide, which also makes the 928GTS rare.

There was also a Semi-official GTR version based on the 1995 GTS (last year for the 928) (see photo below)

Max Moritz 'Semi Works' 928 GTR
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_928 wrote:Porsche's Racing Department never officially entered or prepared a racing 928 for a pure works entry. Only once Porsche decided to make it obvious to the 911 enthusiasts that they usually tended to underrate the racing genes of the 928. Porsche then "arranged" this 928GTR to compete against the then dominant 911(993GTR) on the race track. In order not to offend sensibilities of their traditional 911/993GTR customers by officially challenging them with an outright Works - 928GTR, Porsche asked Max Moritz Racing, their longtime private racing partner from next door Reutlingen to enter this 928GTR Cup as a 'semi-works' car.
It didn't come as a surprise that the drivers were: Bernd Mayländer, Manuel Reuter (Porsche works pilots), also Harm Lagaay (then Head of Porsche's Design Studio). Vittorio Strosek sponsored MM with his Lightweight-Body-Parts and racing exhaust. The car was officially entered by Porsche-Club-Schwaben. Homologation minimum weight had to be, and actually is 1,370 kg (3,000 lb).
Lagaaij reports that the car was very competitive and able to hold most 964 CUP GTs down, although the engine was no more than fine-tuned after having been chosen from a set of high power output specimen in Weissach. In the last race of the season at Hockenheim a crank-bearing ran dry. As the car was supposed to race in 1995 as well, she was made ready to continue her successful competition in the 1995 season. A fresh engine was installed, selected from the same lot of high output engines and tuned as before. In 1995 Porsche's 928 production came to an end, and the car consequently was not raced in the new season.
The late Max Moritz himself then had her join his collection of historic cars. She was not put on the road again until after his death, when the family sold the car in October 2004 - with only 24500 km on the clock (Porsche-Weissach is the only documented owner).

GT3 cup, crap load of 995, 997, awesome stuff....was very happy the other day to see the GT3 in the pack as well...kinda assumed it would make it....the last big question marks for me, are 956? 935? 908? 904? ...the latter would be blast to run with the Ferrari's. I would love a 911 'slant nose' too

The 928...I dunno, I can appreciate it, only because it's a Porsche...but it's such an uninspired design to me. I couldn't come up with models off the top of my head, but I remember as a kid (well, younger kid), it just blended in with other cars of the day, and for a Porsche, that just wasn't 'right'.

I do hope the 959 makes it... That is a strange beast, but it's such a an iconic late 80's Porsche... It raced in all types from road course to rally! Really? I am that blind? That is what I get for posting late... Woot for the 959..

They are sure to put in the Carrera GT and 911 TurboS, but I wonder if they will put in the 918 Spyder? Porsche touts the 918 as their next super car... They are also working on a Coupe version of the Panamera (dubbed the 928 funny enough)..

Hopefully they put in the 356 and the 550 Spyder.... Can you really have a Porsche line-up without them? The 356 is the first Porsche, and James Dean made the 550 a legend (and himself)....
