Forza Horizon

So first screenshot, and Box art (whoo-f'ing-hoo) of Forza Horizon are up over at forzamotorsport.net are up.

I'm still not entirely clear on the concept, but if 'open-road world that begs to be explored' means what I think it mean...well, *sploosh* ...that would be amazing.

Sounds like they're going more NFS style in this game. Less sim, more arcade-y?

I'm perplexed by their "open road". So the annoying part is driving from one race to the next. I didn't play skyrim, but I don't intend on wasting minutes or hours driving across the "Prairies" to the next race.

Well, the 'open world' model of NFS and TDU I quite liked, but the physics (and I use that term VERY loosely when talking about NFS and TDU) were utter crap. My hope with this would be the fundamental engine (and physics) would stay in tact, but the 'open world' model of NFS, or TDU would provide for some challenge/open road racing.

If it was basically NFS Hot pursuit or along those lines, I would be super pumped for this. I am guessing maybe "open road" means the tracks are just out on the road, no dediacted tracks?

That's what I'm hoping as well. So point to point racing, or checkpoint racing, but with multiple options for completing either. That with Forza 4 physics will be amazing. Cat and Mouse becomes exactly as you say, "Hot Pursuit" ....in a wide open world...

If that's what it's going to be then I'm in... Especially if you can build your own P2P race... You must get from point A to point B first to win... How you get there is up to you!! GO!!....

Cannonball Run would be fun.

If it had the openworldness of TDU and the physics of Forza...WITH more ability to customize/upgrade your car, that would be extremely amazing.

I've been wondering what would happen to the club once forza horizon came out. Something tells me that if its more like a NFS game the club feature won't be on there. Would we just keep racing on forza 4?

Hopefully it will have a club or group feature. the franchise would be stupid not to. If it weren't for U2SC and all of you guys, I would have lost interest a few months ago. The club/group keeps things fresh...

That being said, I see no reason why we would stop playing FM4. It sounds like FMH is a "different" animal. Not meant to replace, but more to supplement the FM universe maybe?

Too funny! I told my kids the drive door was glued shut on our Xbox so the only disc-based game we'll ever be able to play is Forza. Of course they didn't believe me but it might as well be true at this rate.
