How can you see what your lap time is when you don't beat the rival time? Its driving me crazy

It doesn't post it at the menu screen?
Check the leaderboard at the bottom of the menu? This is assuming you've managed to beat your best time.

Please don't get any faster Southern... I use you as my rival since you have no ghost! I hate seeing the ghosts on the screen!!! ESPECIALLY on the TG track!SouthernFist7 wrote:How can you see what your lap time is when you don't beat the rival time? Its driving me crazy

I meant that when i don't beat my or my rivals best time, I can't seem to figure out what my time was.

Re: June community monthly class
Isn't there a "results" option to select as well?
Or am I thinking of races/ hotlapping/ test drives?

Re: June community monthly class
You are thinking hotlapping...
The frustrating thing about the TG rivals stuff (single lapper), is you get the sense you went off or had a dirty lap when you didn't. That's actually more frustrating than the ghosts IMHO....

I have never found a way to do this. This is why, when I finish, if it was close, I'll exit rather than restart, because if you DID better YOUR time, it will update regardless of if you beat rival.SouthernFist7 wrote:How can you see what your lap time is when you don't beat the rival time? He's now down to 1:18:787 ...I'm staring to think this is going to end up being a lot of work for a car that I don't really want, and won't ever use.....

I was reading the fm4 forums last night, and there's a secondary way to win a unicorn. Basically, you post what your favorite new feature of the game is and why, and if they like your post, they'll gift you the unicorn of your choice. google 'once bitten forza 4' and it will take you right to it.

Re: June community monthly class
This is a tough challenge for my abilities and it is not even the weekend yet. He may go lower. But it is all good. Last night, I received a huge surprise. In my file depot waiting for me was a BMW M3-GTR compliments of Johniwanna. This has been the unicorn I wanted the most since I started playing. I already have BMW at Affinity 50, but no matter, this car is going to get a lot of use.

OUT!
While I'd love to get a Unicorn, there's a ton of other stuff I gotta get done in game.... July Tunes & testing, my July design, The June 3rd place prize car tune and design, Case's contest livery (maybe), and I need to go back and retune a whole s**t ton of cars due to fault that crept into my tuning.... OVERSTEER!!! BAH!!!

What do you mean? I"ve been running this thing for awhile now, and I swear i'm crossing the line well under 1:18, but it says i didn't beat my rivals time, which in this case is beef, and his time is just a hair over 18:00. Am i missing something, or am I just not crossing the line as early as i think i am. I am also sure that my lap is clean, as the little hazard sign isn't up under my time.

you are looking at the timer that starts after you cross the starting line. your time starts after the countdown is over (the big timer in the top right corner of the screen)SouthernFist7 wrote:BiggLou55 wrote:You are thinking hotlapping...

Thanks for your help, seriously.

bad news... he just ran a 1:17.994. the good thing for me is that I only have to improve my time by .2 seconds to beat him

I hate to bitch, but There's no point to even attempting these things until the very end if theres like a 5 second difference between his first and final times

Re: June community monthly class
Tough rival this month.... Glad to see they are upping the anti, but.... Racing and S-Class car on cold tires is way to frustrating for me...
Do you really think the Stig does his hotlaps on cold tires? Nope... He runs warm-up laps until he and tires are up to temp, parks it on the line, then runs his hot-lap....

Re: June community monthly class
Not sure if I can pull this off. I know what to do from watching Mark and Frank's replays, I just can't execute. I'm having trouble with the Chicago and Hammerhead sections. 1:19.587 is the best I can manage so far.

Re: June community monthly class
you can cut the section right before chicago after the second to last cone and you can also cut the entrance to the hammerhead a bit. also, you can cut that giant curb section at about 100 mph if you take the right angle. this should shave a second or 2 off of your time

Re: June community monthly class
what beef said!
Try to really ride the line on the first turn and on chicago. Try to go through the turn as fast as possible with your wheels following that line as close as possible and just be patient with the gas... to early and you're off into the grass, too late and you've lost time.
As for the follow through, as long as you dont touch the grass you're good, fly right over that curb and you won't dirty the lap! if you can go through the tires at full throttle even better.
