I agree... I grow very tiresome of all of the trolls and flames in public game forums these days. I also applaud developers who have the strength to resist the temptation to sink to their level. Turn 10 does a good job of staying above the muck and rely on their community Mods to shut the bad ones down.

The PlanetSide 2 beta forums are littered with flames and trolls, but the Devs are sticking to their guns. IT'S A BETA!!! OF course there are going to be issues and imbalance. THAT'S WHAT BETAS ARE FOR!!

This really comes down to maturity. Regardless of age, the mature gamers think the way we do. We understand the concept of business. While we don't necessarily agree with some business practice, we have a voice and that is choice. No one is forcing you to play a game even if all of your friends are playing, and game devs are catering to the MASSES and not YOU as an individual. You think the car doesn't match it's real world performance? Do some research and post something CONSTRUCTIVE for the devs in such a way to spark their curiosity and research. IF you are right, then they "might" fix it. They could have designed the car to be that way in the game for balance reasons with other cars in that class, or they could just have bigger issues to address than 1 car being slightly "off". The point is that game belongs to the Devs and Producers. If you don't like the game, the devs or the producer, then don't pay for their titles. "But I really want to play the game!" Well... SUCK IT UP and SHUT IT... Play the game and stop whining about everything your think is "wrong". If you think you can do better, go to school for game development and have at it! I bet you'll create something with YOUR vision and there will be another "you" who thinks that you are wrong and they know better!

Right, time for an adrenaline shot of pure positive then. In about half an hour from now, next week, I'll be turning on my Xbox, opening the tray and inserting a brand new disc with the words FORZA HORIZON in white, black and ridiculous pink on it! I remember, about 2 and a half years ago, playing TDU and thinking, This would be the best game ever if the cars only handled like Forza 3 ...

And, happily, most of you will have done this somewhere between 1-2 days ago (next week), which means your times will pop up every time I finish a race or pass a camera Very Happy

Interesting ... The October Car Pack is on the Marketplace and it's 122 MB. FM4's car packs tended to be between 100-110 MB. FM4 car packs had 10 cars. FH car packs have 6 cars. scratch

Good find...wonder what it means. Either some car related assets are larger for Horizon, which is curious, or they're sneaking something else in there. Injections of new audio tracks would be nice, whether announcer audio or actual songs.

Also remember that the headlights, dual level taillights, turn signals (only in the traffic AI) and dashlights work now so there might be more to the cars...

Ah, good point. I wouldn't be surprised if there were additional shaders to make the cars look right at night. Cool!

Related yet not, have any other wheel users thought about or actually tried to click on your brights when night driving in the demo? Er, yeah, me either. Embarassed

Some news on the Rally Expansion Pack, from an IGN interview with Ralph Fulton:

“We’re trying to put together a really enthralling rally package. I think there’s an opportunity to go much deeper into that pure rally experience; that’s maybe something we didn’t have the chance to do in the broader context of Horizon itself but we identified that pure, one-car-on-a-rally-route, really intense rally experience that you can get if you go deep into rally is something that I think a lot of people are going to respond to and really look forward to.

“Now I’m not sure of figures, right off the bat, but I know there are, I think, seven individual rallies within the pack. Each event is broken up into multiple stages so you get that stage by stage experience in each rally, and that’s really what we’re trying to do there. We’re just trying to go a little bit deeper [into that] rally experience that you get from just having one car on a really narrow, intense, undulating route.

“It’s not going to be part of the open world, because obviously we’re changing quite a lot of the world and that’s going to make synching up between people who have and don’t have the pack difficult. So instead you’re going to choose to enter the Horizon Rally Championship. That’s going to take you off into a separate mode in which you get to experience the new routes and the new terrain that we’ve built.”

I'm really looking forward to this. I've had a lot of fun taking the Evo's and the Audi Quattro onto the dirt tracks so far. Proper rally routes and events sound great. Dec 18: Forza DiRT Very Happy

I wish they'd reveal some info about the cars. I'm really hoping for the Audi Quattro S1. Also, the Suzuki SX4 that's in one of the FM4 car packs. Those are my two favourite Trailblazer cars in DiRT3.

Still no official news, but apparently the achievements are known and there are 5 cars included in the pack.

These cars are believed to be:
Lancia 037 - I'll add a cheers

for you, beef
1992 Ford Escort
Mitsubishi Evo VIII MR
2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi - Adam would've been happy, yes?
1992 Toyota Celica GT-Four

No idea how reliable this is, but it seems my Audi Quattro S1 didn't make it, which makes me Sad

because you can't get those wings and stuff to recreate it with the Quattro already in the game ...

"You can take the same rally upgrades that are featured in the cars that are packed in with the expansion pack and apply them to any car in your Forza Horizon garage," Fulton explains.

So I can build my own Audi Quattro S1!

Which is good for me, because I'm used to it by now. But I remember at first, this Scottish guy's yapping and you have NO idea what half of the jumbled letters spewing from his mouth even means. Except for: "OW! ... Just a scratch, keep going." We rolled over five times, and looking at your side of the roof I'm not even sure how you're still alive, but okay, I'll keep going!

Sadness is ... learning from the FM.net forums that rally body kits do not extend to normal Horizon cars and I won't be able to recreate the Audi Quattro S1 after all Sad

I downloaded it last night, but I have yet to play.... I will probably give it a go over the holiday... Since I pretty much finished Horizon in less than 2 weeks, I'm in NO rush to get through rally.... Wink
