Advanced Tuning... Empty Advanced Tuning...

Post by BiggLou55 Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:04 am

OK... So I'm pretty good at basic and intermediate tuning. I am now consistently generating competitive tunes for myself, and am starting to hone my fine tuning skills. With the help of Slave Munky's SpreadSheet, I've been able to get this far. What I am in need of now is a mentor. Someone who can take my tunes, evaluate them, then provide pointers, recommendations and the reasons for them.

Any takers?

OK.... I will send you my latest Stratos tune if you'd like to take a look. It's probably my best tune to date... FYI, I'm a handling and braking first kinda guy, so the majority of my race tunes have all of the important tunable suspension bits, etc.... I also prefer the Race tranny, since I can match it to the torque curve, especially when adding go-fast parts...

I was thinking it might be good to do a community tune like they did on the main forza forums?

As a club we could pick a car and post build/setup and then go from there. Between us hopefully we could improve/learn a lot?

It's a good idea, but we will all prefer a slightly different tune. Some like tunes that are loose and fast. Some like them quick and tight. Some like more roll and less spring and vice versa. I think it would be a lot of fun and end up educating those that participate. But... If you are looking for one tune to rule them all, I don't think there is such a thing as long as there are humans at the controls! Razz

Frank.... Thank you VERY much for the tuning session last night. It was extremely enlightening!

Mark.... I have a new tune on the Pantera in the Club garage... Let me know what you think. A couple of the guy drove it yesterday, and they provided positive feedback. After my session with Frank last night, I may make some more adjustments, but the tune there is very solid.... Since the garage is full, I cannot put any additional cars up for testing...

Hey lou just wanted to let you know I just ran the pantera with the wheel and the controller to test it out. Ran a 2:13.xxx on the wheel on silverstone, and a 2:10.321 on the controller, could've gotten it into the 2:09s but it was just a quick few laps. Really solid tune there man, felt really planted, and I could control it the way I wanted to Smile My replay is up on the storefront if you wanna check it out for tuning adjustment purposes and what not.

Nope, not at all, it felt just right, I could get on the power without having to ready myself to counter steer. It was loose enough that it turned into the corners fine.

Any tracks you think they'd be good to test on?
