F1 2012 Demo is out on XBOX360

I tried it last night with the controller and felt that it was really difficult. I'm going to find time to try it on the wheel before deciding if it's a game to buy or not.

BTW Nub... Got me new pedals thursday and ran friday and last night with the wheel (finally).... I think I might have experienced what you were refferring to with the issues... For the first 1/2 lap of one of the races it felt like I had ZERO Force Feedback and the wheel seemed VERY sensitive...

Here's a trick.... At the stating line (during the countdown) depress the brakes FULLY 2 times... That usually fixes the issues (and I do it as std practice)... I jsut forgot since it's been about a month for me without the wheel...

Interesting workaround there, too. Hadn't heard that before.

Personally I never had issues of losing FFB -- I had issues of the wheel freaking out, hard locking all the way to the right, and then "freezing" that way. It was scary, thus why I went hands off. There was one report of a guy who had his wheel pull so far to the right that it broke itself. That was enough for me to steer (pun?) waaaaay clear until I knew a fix was out.

I am currently in the XBL Fall Beta group and I'm not supposed to talk about what's in it...so I won't. I will say, however, that last week I raced with my wheel and I intend to do so again.

I'm really enjoying the new sound from the mclaren...you really get that "raspy" tone to the exhaust now especially on downshifts...I'm looking foward to picking this game up, it's a whole different monster compared to forza though! I'm usually a moving chicane in online races

Tbh I'm probably just going to wait until the price drops to get it. The game is good if you're an F1 fan but I don't think it's worth the 60 dollar price tag. And with all the game coming out now like Forza Horizon, Borderlands 2(which I'm gonna snag me a copy today, maybe even a mic while I'm at it ), Assassin's creed, halo 4...etc, I won't have time to enjoy f1 2012 as much.

I picked this up yesterday and have officially begun cheating on Forza (at least it feels that way). I've enjoyed the little bit I was able to play, and I am actually learning a lot about F1. I hope it'll continue to grow my skill at race-car driving (at least virtually), being that it's both realistic and very very technical. Forza 4 is the only racing game I've ever gotten into, so diversifying a bit feels...beneficial.

A side motive was to virtually drive around the Circuit of the Americas, which of course is all abuzz here in Austin. My friends and I weaseled our way into a Cadillac Marketing promotion, happening in December, which allows folks to drive their CTS V around the track. Although we may get Cadillac emails and sales pitches for the rest of our lives...I think it'll be worth it.

Lol nice nub! Yeah I've been wanting to drive around that new track..I'll just wait until I pick the game up. It's a whole different feel than forza! Braking super hard and turning works better in forza than it does in f1. It'll really get you in the habit of coordinating your brakes/gas with the steering wheel.

If I had the money I'd go see the GP of America...too bad i don't!

I picked the new version up as well and I love it. It is a hard comparison to make with Forza because it is very different and technical. You really need to learn the courses in order to do well. If you miss a turn in F1, your race could be over. What I also really like is the strategy involved in winning, using DRS and KERS at the optimum times to win. Also nothing is more gratifying that being able to say you beat Vettel or Schumacher.

No, I have not tried out the Racenet yet, I may get around to it this weekend. I found with F1 2011, that there were some crazy good drivers. I did not do a lot of online racing because of it. Forza is much better for online racing. IMO F1 is better in Career Mode than Forza. If the challenge is still up I will let you know how far back I am.

It seems to be what happened when somebody at Codemasters said "Hey, you guys see that Call of Duty: Elite thing? Let's do that, except for our racing titles. Let's also ensure it doesn't launch like a turd in desert heat". So far it's hooked into F1 2012 and Dirt Showdown, and looks like it'll be integrated with Grid 2.

It's a central service you sign up for, bind any/all of your platform accounts to it, and then it aggregates your data and provides level-up advancement rewards and achievements as you play. They also use it as a platform for hosting game events that you can participate in within their racing titles. Imagine that instead of forum posts and in-game emails alerting you to community bounty hunter events in Forza, there was actually an entire submenu for things like that.

The site is newly launched and I've only spun a few laps around the current time trial challenge. I have no idea what's going to happen when the time runs out or if there's a particular goal I should be shooting for. All I know is that the posted times for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are so unbelievable that I'll never get near them.

The whole thing is a positive step for community interaction, and such gestures make me very happy. Turn10 has set a very high bar in this department though, and I'm hesitant to say that a cutesy "network" can make me feel as involved as the Forza folks do. We'll see, could be fun. It could also be like CoD: Elite which was interesting for all of 15 minutes before being deemed unnecessary and dumb.

Nah I don't think so, but if you do get the game Viagra, we should tear it up in a co-op championship or something. Or if we have a bunch of people who do get it we should all do some f1 racing.

my gf always buys it for me for my birthday, so december 8th ill have it and we can destroy people.

I love how fast paced the game is, if you havnt noticed in forza i suck with slower cars, the adrenaline makes me race better, in F1 2011 i demolished online. I'de def be willing to get into a co op with you, but we gotta buy you a mic. :p

Yeah it'd be kinda boring for ya to do a 20+% co-op race talking to yourself. I'm still working on racing without the assists and lines, I can get the occasional fast lap or 2 but the consistency isn't there.
