No club in FM5, but Driveatar is pretty neat
Admittedly it sometimes feels like you're in a pub lobby with idiots but, even so, it's awesome that it works that well. It's also a great way to see just how many of your friends are playing the game.
If we want the club to exist in FM5 we'll have to push forum participation I guess. Hopefully they patch in club support later, but who knows. I cannot believe that it isn't there. Even if there wasn't a club garage, if that's their concern, the leaderboard and rival organization through club affiliation was SO GOOD. Oh well, I'm done whining about it.
The launch has also gone a bit rough. It took awhile for my VIP status to kick in and I still haven't gotten my rewards yet (have you, Beef?).
Fun, though, so it has that going for it.

ARGHHHHH IT WON"T LET ME ESCAPE THE QUOTE!!!!!!
Anyway, I still don't have the option to redeem any rewards other than my credits for FM5. Also, drivatar is awesome, but I will occasionally run into a person who decides to squeeze me off the track or into a wall on one of the straights. Its a bit frustrating, but it is still much better than racing against the AI

I have received my rewards today, drivatar is great, beat beefs drivatar for the first time today on mazda.
I gets beefs drivatar every race, most of the others are random. even if I change drivatar quality level,
beef is there.
I raced in a multiplayer lobby today, the pub lobby is exactly like you remember and that's not good.
The rivals events are the way to go if its just cash you want for "THAT" car.
In forza 4 cash flowed in fast and furious and I had lots of money to buy whatever I wanted, it seems a little slower this time around. real money can fly out of your wallet fast and furious though. Every time you turn around, coins for cars, upgrades and dlc show up.
Loving the game though.
what your plans for the coins we got, I haven't spent them yet.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with those. Probably save them for a car I really want RIGHT NOW since I tend to be pretty impulsive. So far I've only bought my starter car and an Ariel Atom. I LOVE THE ARIEL ATOM SO MUCH.
I had to turn off simulation steering. The ePeen squealed a bit, but damn, it is just TOO MUCH this time around. Especially in the Atom on the Alps.

I have 3 cars now, Mazda Miata, VW Rabbit 84, and the 2013 ford focus.
I don't know what expensive car I want, it changes every 5 min.

Re: No club in FM5, but Driveatar is pretty neat
Here is my list of cars that I have so far:
Aston Martin Vanquish
BMW 1M
'94 Mazda Miata
Ford Focus ST
'97 Honda Civic
Citroen DS3 Racing
McLaren MP4-12C
'05 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
I used the majority of my LCE tokens to buy the Vanquish and the McLaren. I'm thinking about using the rest to buy the Ariel Atom.
Just a note, no matter what, you are always racing against your friends. In every race I have done, I have been racing against nub, reus, fraid, and a couple others.
Also, watch out if you ever get stuck with HMR HellSing - he goes off the track and violently slams into people on purpose when he merges back onto the track.
Really loving the game right now - I can totally see this getting as much or more time than FM4 for me

Man do yourself a favor and buy the KTM X-Bow and free drive it through Prague. That is probably my favorite car to drive in Forza, ever.
I need them to deliver Amalfi Coast/Positano and I need them to do it right now. Hell, then can even call it "boogers boogers suck some boogers" and I'll still play it. For hours. With my X-Bow.

Keep talking this game up... and it MIGHT convince me to buy an xbone. So far I'm thinking ps4. As of right now the xbone looks like a home arcade machine "oh you want to keep playing? Insert quarter!" Microsoft has always been good at nickel and diming people on the gaming side.

Re: No club in FM5, but Driveatar is pretty neat
it is so funny you mention HMR HellSing . I was chasing you down to finish my dutiful 2nd place, then all of
a sudden out of nowhere HMR Hellsing blows thru the sharp left at the end of the long straight at Bathurst,
misses me and takes you out.
The beef drivatar, is very similar to the real beef. Likes to pass the hardway, rather than take the inside.
carries a ton of speed thru the corners and understeers out wide. The new beef cuts thru the traffic of 16 animals like a surgeon, rarely making significant contact. Some say the old forza 4 beef wasn't like that.
Bob, the new game is great for single player, huge career, tons of rivals. Multiplayer is difficult, as I am having trouble inviting friends and stuff.
The KTM is a great fun drive, I drove the stock version in the rivals event around abu diabi,
my drivatar made me a ton of money on sunday and drove in 157,000 races. I guess I am at a level
everyone can beat.
Finally I chewed thru a set of batteries already, after5 days

Re: No club in FM5, but Driveatar is pretty neat
I have actually surprised myself by avoiding contact at the beginning of the race. Usually what I do is cut to the middle of the track a bit after I shift into second gear so I can establish that line as mine to the drivers around me, then I just rocket through the middle of the two lines of people with some late braking in the first turn. I can usually get myself into the top 9 or so after the first corner by doing this. And yes, I have been doing absolutely everything I can to get by people, including entering fast and wide to get around the slow ones that hog the inside line mainly because it is almost impossible to get first place on pro mode by being patient. I have really had fun with this because it actually gives me a challenge as opposed to professional mode AI on FM4 which provided no challenge at all.asus50x wrote:The beef drivatar, is very similar to the real beef. Also, I find it hilarious that HMR HellSing did the exact same things in your race as he did in mine. At Yas Marina, he didn't brake after one of the straights and plowed through everybody in the top 5 at the moment. Thankfully I was checking my mirrors and noticed this and figured it would be best to turn in late to avoid the chaos
