Like Father Like Son
Allright guys sitting at home by myself playing Forza, and thought of this. If there is enough interest in it I think it would be real fun. Minimum 20 year span between models in the same family. While looking this is what I found.
Team BMW
1988 m5 c367.............MFKR RAMBO
2012 m5 a532.............InsaneFrank
Team Chevrolet
1969 Camaro d305.......Markve91
2006 Camaro a589.......joekorn
Team Dodge
1970 Challenger c352...GodMikeNYC
2009 Challenger b464...beefsupreme42
Team Ford
1965 Mustang gt d235...BigLou55
2005 Mustang gt c372...Southernfist7
Team Nissan
1969 Fairlady e205.......swviper
2003 Fairlady b434.......Fisch3
Team Pontiac
1965 GTO d297...........xraydash
2006 GTO b440...........marmuttlebow
Team VW
1984 Rabbit GTI f182...Eric21477
2010 Golf r b466.........The Purple Man
Was thinking of making this a multi class race. The ''fathers'' being B class and the ''sons'' A class. Few quick rules if there is interest, these could easily be modified.
B class Rules
Min weight 2000lbs
No conversions
Sport transmission Or lower
A Class Rules
Min weight 3000lbs
No conversions
There are a few more as well. Corvette, Trans Am, Skyline, and the m3 if needed but I think it was only a 16 year span.
Would be winners per class and the team score is both members combined time. Championship team is the team with the lowest combined scores between both races.
Car selection goes as follows. Fathers are odd, sons are even. As Viper suggested, will be on a first come basis and if a switch would like to be made, its up to the guys who would like to switch. As of now, there are 14 cars available. If those fill and there is still interest, there is 8-10 more cars that could be used as well. So in your post select your number up to 14. If people are set on a team they would like to be part of and nobody else cares or that number has not been selected, that team is yours. I have a numbering system to assign numbers to teams to keep it even
So im thinking mabye next week sometime to kick this off. How is more toward the end of the week for everybody. Thursday to Saturday at 9-11pm Eastern time. Thats the time frame im looking at.
Maybe tonight if one of you A class racers are on after the series race and have a car somewhat together, might try and turn some laps with you to get the end race timer reasonable.

- Manual trans
- No TCS or STM
- Limited damage
- Race length will be around 20-25 minutes so ill turn some laps tonight on the tracks to get a lap count.
Circuits - Road Atlanta Full 13 Laps
- Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit 10 Laps
- No required stop but pit lane will be open from green to checkers to repair damage if needed
- Fathers roll off the line 10 seconds before the sons
- Race length will be around 20-25 minutes so ill turn some laps tonight on the tracks to get a lap count.

Cool I'm glad there is some interest. if you guys think if any other rules/changes, toss em in. I'm still trying to think of a way to set up teams once we have guys that are interested to try and keep the teams/drivers competitive.

Great idea! I'd love to represent Team Nissan (either car) but I'll participate regardless.

Easy way:
Assign each car a random number, then just like club racing number, people pick, first post of a number gets it.
If guys wanna swap numbers after the intial draw, up to them to sort out.
Hard way:
Look at results or standing of club learderboard, and pair people up along the 'top seed with bottom seed' etc, down the list to 'balance' the teams.

Re: Like Father Like Son
Updated original post with car selection process. Go ahead and start picking guys. As for a race date, that is still tbd. Would like to allow time for teams to fill and some car work to be done.

Since I know the car selection process I will allow somebody else to pick my number to keep it fair.

Re: Like Father Like Son
Any idea is this is going to be a weekend or weekday race? If its a weekday, count me in. I don't care what car I'm in, but I'd like to be teamed up with someone who wouldn't mind tuning my car a bit.

Whomever is teamed with me, I will tune for them if they like.... This might be a good suggestion on pairings as well... PAir a tuner with a non-tuner....
