August Series Race

So.... The August Series is set to be a cycle production series... That sounds boring (although we'd all still run it! ), so I had a thought looking at one of our Polls. It seems there is quite the interest in an AWD series. SOOOOOO... What about an AWD Series for August?

EVO VS IMPREZA w00t!

Yeah.... That's my choice too... We've done Mid-engine RWD, RWD Muscle, FWD Spec, and now R3 rockets (can't handle anything faster myself - not much fun for me).... We need a good AWD series! EVO-v-WRX has got to be the most popular rivalry in the past 10 years. It's just too bad both are no longer in the WRC. I guess the "new" WRC rivalry is Citron-v-Renault-v-Ford... YUK....! I hope Subi and Mitsu return to WRC along with Toyota and Audi....

would evo v. impreza be the same type of thing? I know the S204 and the 22b sti are't wrx's, but it would be fun to use them

Yes... Any of the Impreza's VS Any of the Lancers as long as they are production class... Or we can do some testing and find the Lancer/Imprza matchup that is the closest in competition....

I'll start tuning soon... I'll send them to Beef and Cash for testing!

*EDIT* Testing just to "see" if there is an overpowered model when upgraded or a dog in the class... This way "if" we were to run this in August, we would have the available cars/parts list ready to go!

I say that we just allow any lancer model and any impreza model to race. I think the 2 stand outs will be the S204 and the evo VIII. It should be very evenly matched

But not everyone will have access to the S204.... I'll run some tests... I may make it a Team Spec series.... Team Mitsu and Team Subi... Each team will have a specified car and build they have to run... It may make it more interesting! IT will definately make it closer like April!

oh, I forgot to mention that the 22b only falls short of the S204 in the top speed category... that should be a good one too

Not to mention the Tuning and Livery Factor.... Only having to tune 2 cars or paint 2 cars is MUCH better than the tuning frenzy I've been on since Mid-April! LOL ... I love it, but I'll need a break... With that said, I now totally understand how to tune for FM4, so there's a +... That will also translate to Horizon!

Lou, maybe not a FULL Spec series, but have two models from each side a racer can pick from? I kinda like when guys have the choice of car and it would be interesting to see who goes where with it.

Yeah, I agree. Not that spec isn't fun....

By Aug we might have a Mitsubishi and a Subaru Unicorn we could populate garage with...."August Racing With Unicorns"

OK.... So.... We'll do a wide open Impreza -V- Lancer series for August....

Limited Items: (so far - the list is subject to change)

MAX PI = 600
MUST be AWD
MUST be "Production"
MUST be either in the Impreza/WRX or Lancer/Evo Family
MUST be Boosted (Turbo or Supercharger)
NO Drivetrain conversions or Engine Swaps
Must have a Racing Roll Cage
Must have Racing Front and Rear (wing) Aero bits

This is where I am right now. I will put together a thread and a car list in the next few weeks. August is still a month and a half away, so there's time to figure it all out....

Looks good so far Lou. I just like the adversity in cars we get with the series. THe good news is I meesed with a ton of tribals on my STI so it's kinda already painted! lol

I picked up some cars last night and I was really surprised at how even the cars are in every single category. I was thinking that the 22b would dominate because of ist low starting PI and performance stats that were pretty much even with the S204, but they were all pretty close. I still haven't tried out the S204 yet because I don't have it....

I would like to say I think stuff is late because of E3 etc...but honestly, it's just been getting progressively slower and slower and slower.....

yeah, I STILL don't have my d-type...

What's up with that? Too many after parties? Not ALL of the devs and game managers have to go to E3...
