Lou's Status....
I'm still here!
I apologize to everyone for not being around much the past couple of weeks... With school starting up for my girls free time has been at a minimum... I've also been suffering from a bad case of tendinitis in my left thumb which is causing annoying and often painful trigger finger in my thumb. With my wheel out of commission for the time being, that leaves me with little options for racing.
On the wheel, I chatted with FANATEC tech support over email, and I was able to special order a replacement cable for the pedals. (As a note, FANATEC support is great!) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the connector port on the pedals is OK, and that all I need is a new cable. As long as the cable does the trick, I should be able to race as some point this week... If not, it will be another 2 weeks before I am back in action since I'll have to order new pedals!

Re: Lou's Status....
that sucks about the tendinitis. have you, or do you plan to see a doctor? back in May i had a nerve problem in my left hand which required surgery to fix so i know how you feel. btw, did you have problems with your force feedback? everyone with FFB wheels was saying how the latest dashboard update messed it up and now that i got a the microsoft racing wheel i know what they mean. sometimes mine practically counter-steers for me!
good luck with the cable/daughters/hand so you can get back on forza soon!

Re: Lou's Status....
I started acupuncture treatments for the tendinitis last week... I'm not a big fan of surgery that isn't needed. If acupuncture and wearing a brace for XX amount of time does not work, I will go see an orthopedic...
When was the last update? Last time I used my wheel (2 weeks ago) it was fine!

Son, I am disappoint.
I was expecting the post to all be in third person.
"Lou has tendinitis. Lou can't play, etc"

Yeah... We attended the Open House at the school last night... Since we are all getting up at the crack of dawn now, I seem to be passing out a few hours earlier at night (between 11-midnight central)....
The replacement cable arrived yesterday, but I have not had the time to test it yet... I may not get to test it until the weekend, but I will try tonight...
Re: Lou's Status....
Update:
The cable arrived on Wednesday, but I didn't have a chance to test it until tonight. Unfortunately it was a no go. I will now have to replace the pedals @ $80 US + shipping ... I'm also a bit worried that it might not be just the pedals but the wheel itself. In that case, It's $250 US to replace the Pedal AND the wheel....
To make a long story short, I will not be participating in the series races until I get it sorted. I'm good for 2-4 laps before I need to give me hands a rest, so 30 minutes straight on the controller for a series race is out. I won't be on tonight, but I will be on some this weekend. As for the series races, I will be spectating September. My goal will be to distract both Beef and Marm ... As for tonight, I'm just too bummed out about the wheel to fire up the game...!
I will be picking up Madden 13 this weekend as well, so I really hope we start the league. If we do, I will set up a forum section dedicated to it!...
Cheers!

Re: Lou's Status....
If you're ordering the wheel, might I suggest you send the wheel back to them. See if they're willing to test it out. Make sure that ordering new pedals will resolve your issue. Don't want you to do this in pieces. Gonna end up even more frustrated.
As for Madden. Dang. I guess I'll be picking this game up too then.

Re: Lou's Status....
Sorry to hear it, Lou. Kids are awesome and I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of the wheel issue soon enough. Take care of that hand, though! I can imagine the frustration of having the hand give up before you're ready to.
I haven't gone through what you're going through, but I have experienced pain and fatigue in my hands that force me to stop. It's why I can't even use the wireless speed wheel, that thing does something awful to my wrist that I feel for days.
I've tried some nutty things, including this, with which I've had mixed results (depends on the game).
I'd join you in Madden but I'm more of a hockey guy...and I've got fps fever these days.
They supposedly have a fix in testing, but despite all my efforts I can't find a status. I got accepted into the public beta yesterday and have downloaded the update, but again I have no idea if the ffb fix is included. I'm hesitant to plug in my wheel to "just try it", but I'll probably talk myself into it before the weekend is over.

Take care Lou. I have numbness on the pinky side of my hand. I have ulnar nerve damage (which is know as the funny bone, it's a nerve not a bone). Hope you get the wheel and pedal issues resolved.

Re: Lou's Status....
So a bit of an update....
The good: I'm currently undergoing Acupuncture treatments for my carpel tunnel and it's working pretty well...
The Bad: My thumb is not getting better, and I will be heading to see my doctor Friday or Monday to begin the process of getting this thing fixed. I thought I could wait it out, but I'm not sure it 100% tendinitis. More later...

Thanks Shin.... I ran in the series race on Wednesday, and it didn't go well at all after 8 laps.... I tried to blame Sniper, but no one was buying it even though he did "punt" me off the track!
Re: Lou's Status....
