Barn Tracking

I'd like to have a thread where we help each other locate possible or confirmed barn locations in the Horizon world. If we can somehow map out possible car barns then we should have better luck finding them when the hints come around.

My vision is to acquire a quality image of the Horizon Colorado map. We'd cut that image into a grid and report the coordinates of club barn sightings. I haven't found a good image online yet so I'll either wait or maybe try to make one myself. We'll see.

I got the idea for this today when I came across what has to be an example of a "barn find barn". I took pictures of the barn as well as its location on the map. As you can see, these pictures are terrible and I should be embarrassed. I'm not, though. I'm not.

I also figure that having a grid of mapped out barns can give folks something to do when they want to drive around the open world but aren't feeling like running events. You could barn crawl!

Despite your piss poor pictures, this is an excellent idea! That was in the demo? Do I see a car lurking in the shadows?

Yep, this is from the demo. There's no car in there though.

I only found one so far.

I have seen multiple barns in the demo, but none of them seem very accessible, so I am assuming that the one nub found is the only one that we will find on the demo

I'm thinking that you might need a map in order to activate the barn-find... I hope I'm wrong, but I'm likely right...

Meaning buying an in-game map thing? That does sound familiar.

yeah I think I remember hearing something like that

they are called "Treasure" maps.... I'm hoping we don't need them, but you might in order to buy the barn find off of the owner... We'll know in less than 24 hours wont we!

this reminds me of Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition. where you had to go around collecting the rockstar logos. what we should do is get a picture of the map and mark down with a dot every barn that we find with a car in it.

how does this barn find deal work?

I think you need a map pack or something. part of me wants to know where sniper found one and part of me wants to find it on my own...

as you progress that alice chick that's all over you notifies you of areas in which there's a barn find. she's told me about 3 so far but i've only managed to actually get that one. also, if you guys don't want to know where they are let me know, cause i'd completely get it, i'm not getting the treasure map for that reason.

Yeah I want to find them by myself but I just wanted to make sure it could be done without purchasing something, like the map.

Doesn't seem to be too hard to find them. They point out the general area for you as the game progresses or you're nearby. Not sure which triggers it. The radio announcer even told about one in an area I haven't been to yet.

I also like how the discount signs show up on the map (red dot) if you've driven by but didn't take it out or notice it. I was worried these things would be hard to find but they do a nice job of helping you out.

these are the first things I am looking for. once I start up the game, I am nailing all of those upgrade signs and getting as many barn finds as possible, then I will start with career mode (I don't like spending money on my upgrades...)

The Barn Find system works like this... Periodically, you will get a call from the race chick saying there's news of a barn-find, and then a shaded circle will appear on the map over the area where the barn is located. Only then will you be able to get the car in the bran. If you don't have the barn-find activated, then you will not get the car...

BTW... There are a shit ton of barns in FH, but only some of them are in the barn find system... We also compared notes last night and determined the barn finds are in the same locations for everyone, but the order in which the finds are given to each player are random.

So far I've got the Mercedes, Bugatti, Cuda, and M1....

Yeah, a buddy of mine has gotten 4 and he said it was very scripted. Kind of takes the winds out of my sail for generating a map and comparing notes, as it'd merely be a spoiler piñata. Oh well, plenty of other things to do.

I think you still should do the map for each barnfind... While they give you the area, the barns can be tough to find... Especially the one for the Merc and the M1....
