Painting... Where to start?
So i spent 3 hours making a vinyl which ended up with about 25 layers and it was horrible. I looked online and see people doing complete cars in that time. How the hell is that possible? Can someone shed some light on this for me! Any tips, tricks or good how toos you know of? I looked at beefs liverys and my jaw dropped! Whats your secret?

Re: Painting... Where to start?
My number one tip would be start off with small simple designs and mess with blending together shapes and most importantly use your imagination. Anything can be made with the painting program forza provided us. I wouldnt worry to much about not being able to do big designs right now. It takes a very long time to get the hang of it.
Also creating a vinyl on the "Create a Vinyl" tab is a lot more beneficial rather than trying to build it on a car itself.
If there are certain vinyls or designs you want dont be afraid to ask because there are a lot of great painters in our club. Just throw a request up on the forums with a picture or description and someone will take up the offer.

Re: Painting... Where to start?
I will send you a whole slew of vinyls tonight (along with the cars).... the best way to learn is to see how others do it... I'm more a pirate when it comes to design... I can lay down some simple stripes, color changes, etc... But when it comes to building characters, realistic graphics, and other really cool stuff, I leave that to people more skilled than me....
JasonMurphy, Keemschauby, Beefsupreme, Case, Eric, Wa11y and a few others are really good painters... Pick their brains...
Now... If you want to talk tuning, then Insanefrank is your man! He could tune a shopping cart to handle better than a 458! I'm a tuner as well, but nowhere close to Frank's skill level!

Re: Painting... Where to start?
the only tip I can think of is just start off easy and slowly work your way up to the tough vinyls. It kinda just gradually took its course for me. All I can think of is that I would keep looking for something to do, whether it was a vinyl group or a design, that was a little more difficult than the last one I did. Just be patient, and as long as you keep an interest in it you will get a lot better

Replicating designs is a good way to get the hang of it. It doesn't require as much crazy originality and it's a good way to get a feel for the livery editing. And like Lou said, if you ever need something just post and we'll help you out.
