Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
OK guys... All nine of the July cars are now shared in the club garage and I'll get the tunes up to my SF (free) as soon as testing is complete (the B-class tunes are already there BTW). All of them have slightly tweaked base tunes. I've shared them that way to ensure that I get a good test on all. I know we have a mega session this afternoon, but any hotlapping the testers cna do today would be greatly appreciated!
Tuning Mods so far: Base tune using SMTC; Gearboxes are tuned for Bernese Alps Stad (should be able to hold 5th gear in all but the ZR-1 from the bottom of the hill to the jump); slight tune to the rear-end of all 9 to minimize the unwanted throttle oversteer; Aero adjustments to provide stability in the high-speed left (leading into the downhill) through the finish line (all pretty much 100+ MPH sections)...
B-Class notes: Test if you can, and start with your class.... I've did some testing with the B-Class last night.... 1:37.xxx is the best I could muster with the M3. low 1:36.xxx with the Cosworth. Mid/Low 1:35.xxx with the 190E (1:40.xxx on Indy)...
A-Class Notes: All three are pretty close... the Soarer "feels" and is heavier that the others... The Mazda feels very quick and with the lower Torque, does not suffer as much from the unwanted oversteer... The Sylvia is quick and fast, but it does feel less stable than the other two...
S-Class Notes: All three are pretty close here as well... the Ford GT is the fastest of my tunes so far and feels the best all around (just a great car to begin with)... The ZR-1 is FAST, but it needs a lot of TLC on the throttle on corner exit (or just use TCS ).... The LFA is quick and fast, but it doesn't like to turn in at higher speeds (since front aero is limited on the LFA, I may have to decrease the front tire width or add some negative toe to the rear).

Hey Lou I've been waiting for all your cars to go up to test them Especially the ZR-1 as I haven't had time to tune one for myself...
I ran your M3 last night and basically full throttled the entire track minus the obvious braking points! I think Beef or Frank might've ran the M3 too, not sure who but someone else did too!

I tested both of your fords. The cosworth is grippy and very easy to control. I was able to stay ahead of the pack until I crashed because I was looking backwards... The GT is more responsive than mine and it is also easy to control along the shorter corners, but around that long uphill sweeper and the esses, the back end slides out a bit making it a little tougher to maintain a high speed. If you increase the caster angle just a bit, it should run about half a second faster

Actually... I will drop rebound 1 click and reduce the rear ARB a tad... That should fix it...

sounds good, I will test it again and see how it feels

M3 won that serious, and the Ford GT won the S series.

Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
Lou, not sure if this is where you want feedback on the tunes...but here goes.
Very preliminary testing of the A class cars for July...
Bernese Alps
Mazda-1:53
Toyota-1:56
Nissan-1:56
The Nissan, much like in my trying to tune it, stays true to the roots that made it famous...it wants to drift. In fact all of these cars tend to want to be sideways, but they are insanely balanced and recover brilliantly with minimal effort. The Mazda is the sweetheart of the three imo. The braking on the Toyota is insane....compared to this months cars where getting on the brakes requires instant correction, this car just scrubs off speed, drama free....if you like carrying speed into corners late, this car will NOT fail you.
The Mazda is funny, it's the car I LEAST wanted to hold wide open through the esses on Bernese, yet oddly it dealt with it without any surprises...it 'feels' like it's going to betray you, but it just hangs on. The Nissan def. needs throttle control through them, but still zips through. If the Nissan could be tamed to go through turns NOT sideways, it would prolly be very quick.

Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
Did some tests tonight, 5 laps on the Alps in each A class car.
Silvia: very fast, the gears are spot on in this one! I found it to be a little loose, wants to drift sometimes. It's easy enough to correct with throttle control though. Best time: 1:31.917
Soarer: this is a great car, but you're right....its heavy and you can feel it. Not much drama at all to this one. Best time: 1:31.202
RX8: I got the feeling that the car wanted to float over some of the rregularities on the track. In some of the turns I felt the rear slowly loose grip if pushed too hard. Overall a great car though. Best time: 1:32.713
Hope the feedback helps you out, and I drive with a controller just for reference.

Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
Thanks Eric... The A-class tunes are the ones I've had the least time with... That really helps... Although... the funny thing is that I ran my fastest times in the RX-8... Almost dead reverse of you times... LOL....
Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
Beef.. the Ford is updated and very nicely planted in the final series...
Viagra/Mark... I've done some tweaking to the ZR-1, but I personally feel it needs more work.... Let me know what oyu think...
The LFA is turning in better and may be a good runner... Try it out and let me know...
The B-Class cars are done and ready to go...
As for the A-class tunes... They are decent. I did some tweaking tonight and the garage has updated versions.
If you want a copy of any of the B-A-S tunes, please shoot me an XBL message...

No problem man. My times in your cars vs mine are so close its crazy. I'm talking 0:00.85 in the Silvia, 0:00.08 in the Soarer, and 0:00.56 in the RX8!

Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
Thanks for running the tests swviper.... The feedback is great!
I've updated both the Soarer and the Sylvia.... the RX-8 is dead on (as you pointed out)...
Added some aero to the soarer... it was just a tad too loose in the final section... I also increased the front and rear tire pressure....
I fiddled with the Sylvia a bit more and I think I've got the rear end under control now...
One thing... those lap times... Are you running the full track? We are running the Stadplatz version this week!

All 9 cars are now updated and synced to the Club Garage... If you would like one or more of the tunes unlocked, please send me an Xbox Live message. Please feel free to test some more and provide feedback, as it is ALWAYS welcome.
*A note on my tunes:
I have ZERO problems if you want to tweak it yourself. I am a firm believer in a final tune being more about matching the car to driving style and driver preference. Some people like a little throttle oversteer, and some people like it to be laser straight and tight as a drum. Both ways are good, but there is only 1 way that is right for each driver...
The remainder of the July
After this week's race at Bernese Stadtplatz, I will only be updating the B-Class tunes for each track. I will also update the A and S class tunes by request. Each one of the July tracks are VERY different, so the tunes will require tweaking, especially in the gearbox....

haha, I did the same thing with the ford! My tune was a little slower, but only by about .1 of a second! I have a feeling that the new tune on lou's GT should beat mine pretty easilyEric21477 wrote:BiggLou55 wrote:Thanks Eric... The A-class tunes are the ones I've had the least time with... Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
I ran all three A class tunes. The Mazda is too slippery for me overall. It's quick and takes corners well but any lateral correction on the straights and I was all over the place. The Silvia generally handles better but it is still a bit drifty and I had to baby the throttle. I got the best time and had the most fun driving the Soarer, which was funny because before running any of them I wasn't even considering using it. It's rock solid- fast, grippy, and forgiving. Obviously people are getting different results but I think the Soarer fits my style. Thanks for shaing these, Lou! Would you please send all three tunes my way?

Re: Juy Series Cars by Lou-ne-tunes - TESTERS NEEDED
A Class:
Silvia - 1:31.39x - A little tail happy, but overall, pretty easy to handle. Moderately forgivable in handling.
Soarer (This is an Ugly Lexus) - 1:31.7 - Faster than the Silvia, but loses out on the turns. This one was a bit more of a handfull (not that it is to be exact). This car is finicky and getting a good lap out of it is going to be challenging. Too fine a line to walk for this car.
Mazda - 1:30.874 - Less tail happy than the Silvia. Out of the three, this is the one I would go with. Most forgiving of the three.
For me, I'd go Mazda, Nissan then Toyota.
**Funny, after reading the reviews, I came up with something completely different. I ranked the Soarer the worst of the bunch.

B Class:
M3 - 1:37.477 - Not much to report here. It goes? A little loosey goosey on the turns. Some throttle control required. Does not like trail braking. Least forgiving of the bunch.
Ford - 1:37.014 - There's more time in there. Faster than the BMW on the straights. Seems to handle the turns a lot better too. Not really that forgiving either. Although more so than the BMW.
MB - 1:35.564 - Fastest of the bunch (as seen by the times). There's more time in it. Just a matter of consistency. Best handling car. Least likely to suffer from throttle oversteer. In terms of forgiveness, this one takes it.
That's enough testing for me. Will give S a go later on.

B Class-
M3 - this car feels GREAT. It just goes and I can agree with marm about the back end being a bit happy but I found I could get the tail to stay in place by BARELY moving my control stick. As long as you dont slide this car is insanely quick...Best lap 1:35.252 (probably my most perfect laps of all laps ever)
Ford - definitely "feels" faster than the BMW. Same thing here with this car as the bimmer. Best lap 1:35.317. I got pretty close to my M3 time, I guarantee I would've ran a 1:35.2 if I didnt mess up the last corner. I like the way this car sounds over the M3 though Between the BMW and this, it's about preference i guess!
Benz- Easily the most OP car of the bunch...I beat my times in the other 2 cars in the second lap...This thing just has amazing speed and grip and sound might I add. You'll cause an avalanche with that race exhaust . Fastest lap 1:34.244
