January.... Which one...?
January.... What if....
So... I've been thinking about a few things..... I know I have the Modern Muscle series noted, but something keeps nagging at me... There are two other series that would be fun...
A Radical SR8 RX Spec series (R2-875), which is a GREAT little car to run in R2. It is not really crazy, and I have no problems running it all out with no TCS or SCM.. I put the car up in the Club Garage for those that wish to test... Tracks would be Cat GP, Silverstone GP, Hock Full and Nurb GP Full...
The other is a Straight up S-Class Series... We haven't done a pure S-Class series yet, and it would be kinda fun... Restrictions would be Car Type Production, Body Style Supercar or Sprots Car and Year 2000 or newer.... No drive-train conversions or engine swaps, everything else goes. Tracks would be Mugello Full, Cat GP, Road America, Twin Ring Motegi Full...

I really think an S-class series would be great. S-class is sort of the last level at which I feel racing is really about racing/reacting against other people rather than just working on the fastest possible lap times (R3) or reducing the possible reaction times by so much that a lag pocket causes a wipeout (R2-R1). Plus there is such a wide variety of competitive (and/or interesting) cars at the S-class level. I'd love to start taking on painting commissions for such a series.

I'm really liking the sound of a straight up S-Class... As much as I like spec series (since I suck at tuning) I also really enjoy when we have a diverse field

I voted S Class. To be perfectly honest I get anxious at the thought of racing R class cars with y'all online. Imagine a box full of cats being opened up in a small shuttle cabin in zero gravity.
I am that box of cats.
I am that box of cats.

Re: January.... What if....
I encourage you to at least try the Radical I put in the club garage... I agree that most R2/R1/X class cars are not all that fun due to the extreme nature of their power bands and need for total focus...
BUT...
There are 2 R2-class cars that are just pure joy to drive... The Radical and the Mazda Furai... Neither require the typical R2/1/X nannies, and they are just a TON of fun...
*Note: I have not voted yet... I want to see where this discussion goes... I'd love any of these series, so I'm really impartial on this one...

this is a tough decision... I think the radical series would be loads of fun, but the S class series sounds great too...

Re: January.... What if....
Looks like I will be planning a S-Class series for January... I will leave the post open in the event the tide of the vote changes towards Modern Muscle.
I will start working on the official car list and rules over the next few weeks. I plan on posting the January series details over Thanksgiving weekend (next weekend for all those outside of the US)....
On another note, I will plan some sort of Club race (akin to Low's Miata races) for the Radical. That car is a ton of fun, and would make for some fun racing... Stay tuned...
