Adam has passed away

I am very heart broken to tell everyone Adam has just passed away. He couldnt hold on any longer. Im going to miss that kid more than anything! I know he is in a better place now. RIP Adam you were the best friend a guy could have! I love ya buddy!

Heartbreaking news......not really sure what to say except that he will be missed greatly. Damn, I literally felt my heart sink and got a sick feeling just from seeing the title of this thread. We will be sure to keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. RIP buddy.

He added a spark of energy and great fun to every lobby I shared with him. I'll miss hearing his voice online but I am both thankful and happy for having the privilege of ever hearing him at all. Lots of love to his family and friends.

Rest in peace Adam. You were such a wonderful person. I don't think I ever met another person with such a great attitude. I honestly consider you a life long friend even tho we never meet each other. I'm really at a loss for words right now..........

I have a few of you as FB friends, and I wanted to share what I just published on my time line...

On this Thanksgiving Day, I must say Thank You Adam Mitchell... You were one of the best and brightest young man I've met in a long time! You will be missed, and I am a better person for knowing you. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and your friends. Rest well young man, your suffering has ended.

Adam is one of the members of a racing club I belong to for a game called Forza Motorsport 4. While it is just a game, the group I joined earlier this year has become more than just a group of gamers. At the core of the group, we've formed friendships. Adam was one of those at the core, and I was saddened to hear of his passing today. Adam was 19 years old and lost his battle with Leukemia late this afternoon. The world was a better place with Adam in it, and I am going to miss his great attitude and wonderful sense of humor...

I'm sorry to hear of Adam's death. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness of the loss of a son and a friend.

Do you know if there will be any Memorial contributions?

This is very sad. I was looking at Adam's avatar last night before I switched off the Xbox, hoping he would get better soon.

I've only had the pleasure of racing with him on a couple of occasions (during all of which he kicked my ass). But I remember he had a nice voice and a great chuckle. During one of the birth year races, he and Low was having a back and forth, both on track and over the mic, and every now and then I heard him chuckle. It made me smile every time.

This has happened to me twice now. In the same way. My grandfather passed a few years ago from pancreatic cancer. He was 60 and he went into a coma the day before he passed. Its painfully ironic the fact that two close people to me, passed in very similar ways.

Wow... I'm simply dumbfounded. My high spirits coming into today have been completely extinguished.
Seth, I'm so very sorry to hear the news, my deepest condolences.

I find that the enthusiasm and aspiration that he held while he fought his illness was truly inspirational.
I'm going to miss Adam's presence tremendously, both within the club and on the track.

My favourite HPI moment is him jawing with Case. Those two going at it always made it fun in any race.

And more recently, the teasing with the nurses. He took it all in stride. Gonna miss him for sure.

I am always going to remember the time he yelled "Great job nub, you're not on my team, but I'm still proud of you!" after nub scored that goal in soccer. That was great

I've only been around for 6 months or so but it was easy to see that he was a driving force in this club and contributed a ton of positive energy. The world has lost a truly awesome person.

wow. it's incredible how much someone that i've never met face to face can mean to me. i'm really gonna miss him, and i hope to never forget the awesome memories of racing with him.

Man, I was hoping to never see a thread like this.

Have been traveling, offline for a while, and was blindsided when I logged in. Made me think though, while I was trying to figure out how to explain to my wife's family why I had to abruptly leave the room, about how special Adam really was. Telling them that I was so upset because someone had passed away who I played video games with, although never met, would probably seem a little strange. Think that illustrates the point, though, as he wasn't just 'some person'.

As others have said, his happy, friendly and funny personality had an impact on all our lives. I mean c'mon, even leukemia couldn't put a dent in his unwaveringly positive attitude! That is pretty damn special, and the world is just a little bit dimmer without him. We'll miss you buddy.

Case - Have to say that you and Adam seemed like a bit of an 'odd couple', very different from each other, which led to some pretty funny moments in the lobbies. It was obvious how special your friendship was though, and how much you meant to him. For those of us who never had the chance to hang out with him in person, guess I just want to say "Thank you" for being there for him. It says a lot about a person when they are this kind of a friend.
