I was actually talking about reviewing the saturday night races at sedona and motegi. If I took a picture of every time there was contact, it would probably be about 50 pictures...

Thanks for letting me know Eric. I actually won't be able to get to the auction or the car-gifting until tomorrow because I won't be at my mom's house until then. If you could just restart the auction when it expires tonight or tomorrow morning, that would be great for me.

One thing that might need fixing: I can't quote somebody without having to write my comment in the quote itself...

Ok, I have the results for the sports cars race. We had so many people race this week that somebody got 0 points for the first time!

place racer time points
1st BiggLou55 41:20.406 25
2nd beefsupreme42 41:39.266 18
3rd Red Sniper 213 41:50.668 15
4th Eric21477 42:23.573 12
5th marmuttlebow 42:31.544 10
6th wolfman115 42:59.519 8
7th Petty Officer P 43:34.645 6
8th menes reus 43:51.918 4
9th Lowflyinmx3 46:05.046 2
10th BOSTONJOHN77 48:08.625 1
11th WHY Y0U MAD BRO 49:48.074 0

Some things to note:

1. reus had 15 seconds taken off his time for sedona. 3 seconds were taken off for the first time Low hit him in the area where the bad quicksand is (half of the time he lost because I felt that it wasn't clear as to whether going off the track there was preventable or not). 12 seconds were taken off his time for the second time Low hit him at the hairpin.

2. Nobody got any time grants on motegi because, though there was a lot of contact, it was very unlikely for somebody to go off the track due to contack

3. Nobody was penalized for causing contact

Here are the current standings:

place racer points
1st beefsupreme42 169
2nd BiggLou55 151
3rd Red Sniper 213 114
4th wolfman115 74
5th (tie) B08MATH 58
menes reus 58
7th Eric21477 41
8th BOSTONJOHN77 37
9th Pirate Tinman 24
10th Joekorn 19
11th marmuttlebow 10
12th I ATE UR RAMEN 8
13th Petty Officer P 6
14th Lowflyinmx3 2
15th iPro AssasinV1 1
16th WHY Y0U MAD BRO 0

I look forward to having this many people race this week, too. Remember, this week is SUPERLIGHTS

Post by marmuttlebow Sun Jun 23, 2013 1:02 pm

Last night we had 5 in the lobby.  A few of us buzzed Nub.  But no response.

Race 1:  (Keep in mind, I have done no testing or anything, just show up and hope I got a car in the garage).  I get a good start.  Beef stays wide and gives me the lead.  I think we were mostly clean.  Beef gets kicked.  Red passes me for the lead.  Beef shows up and we all back out.

Race 1, attempt 2:  I'm in the same spot as before.  People are banging all over the place.  Red rolls.  I take the lead until lap 6 where Beef was lapping a good 3 or 4 seconds faster.

Race 2:  I took out Eric's Lotus 11.  That thing did not like trail braking.  And was a little too tail happy.  I spent the race chasing Red.  Managed to close in to less than a second.  But then I just pushed the car around too hard and lost time.

Race 3:  Start at the back.  Bad start.  I'm trailing everybody.  I was on the outside heading into turn 1.  Missed the brake point so I was going wide no matter what.  Everybody went for the apex.  And everybody smashed into each other.  This gave me an opening.  Led for a spell.  Beef passed me on the back straight (I noticed that was where I was losing time).  Chasing Beef, I was closing on him.  And once again, pushed it too hard.  Got caught in the quicksand.  And that was that.

Race 4:  I was bad in this one.  I'm sure I punted menes.  And then I was chasing Red.  Hit him in turn 2 or 3.  Gave him the spot back.  And chased him.  Really made time up through turns 1-3.  Finally got around him.  And by then Beef was long gone.

Boston, I'm not one to talk, but may I suggest that at the start, you just go in a straight line until you're sure you're clear of all cars.

Good times once again.  Hopefully I can make it next week.

Hey guys....  Just got back from vacation in the Smoky Mountains (Gatlingurg, TN - Dollywood, Splash Country and a few other fun outings - kids had a blast - so did Dana and I, but we are glad to be home).....

I will be building my cars today, and, as long as they are complete, I will be hosting a make-up race tonight for those that want to partake!  ;-)

Post by asus50x Sun Jun 23, 2013 2:03 pm

race 1 on positano, took out the vauhall vx220. started at the back, tried a high speed pass
of the "smashing pack". I cleared them but hit the wall past the bridge. got turned around
and was dead last. lucky for me everyone backed out to pick up the host.

race 1 version 2. started on the second row beside the always dangerous boston john.
we bumped and nudged each other up to the bridge. So did everyone else. it was no quarter
racing. at the bridge I backed out of the turn. last again,I passed boston on the final turn of lap one and hot lapped the rest of the race. I could see the herd from time to time but failed to gain on them.

race 2 at motegi east.  was told my lime green vauxall was nothing compared to some cars in the club. again I was in the back row, this turned out to be a blessing in disquise, as everyone in front of me was going this way and that. once the dust settled I was in fourth
with no one anywhere near me.

race 3 at Sedona club. I took out the elise 111. much like erics lotus 11 it doesn't care for trail breaking and the tail breaks loose. but after an adventurous start I took the lead at turn one. sniper was right with me in a faster car. He took the high line, I took the inside line. coming out of turn one I had scrubbed off a lot of speed, but was still in front.
as I am putting the power down out of turnh one my car is understeering to the right abit.
as sniper comes out of one on the outside he wants to get to the left to setup the twisty esses. yep you know what happened next. I went off to the left, he went off to the right.
both of us got back on track quickly. he just ahead of boston, me just behind him.
it took me near 1/2 lap to make a safe passing solution around boston with his weaving style of racing. by then I was doomed to hot lapping yet again. I did make a big gain on sniper as his car went down with mechanical or electrical problems at one point but he recovered to keep me at bay.

race 4 at sebring short. exige cup car this time. shocking as this may sound everyone got thru turn 1 unscathed. each car had a different amount of understeer which worked out just fine. it was turn 4 where the adventures happened, there was a lot of contact as everyone still together were sorting out the hairpin. only one car got thru it safely.
I was behind boston again and passed him on the straight and started to reel marm in.
I messed up the bumpy right handed sweeper before the start/finish , this time all by myself. and settled in for hotlapping.

Yeah.  A/C broke, the inlaws came into town, and the wife signed us up to babysit our friend's 5 year old all weekend.  Although it all worked out ok, pretty much everything we intended to do didn't happen.  Sorry to be a no-show.

I never want to be asked another question again.

Race 1 = 8 laps positano B class
Race 2 = 7 laps Motegi East B class (this should have been 6 laps but I made a stupid mistake by saying 7...)
Race 3 = 8 laps Sedona Club A class
Race 4 = 8 laps Sebring Short A class

There was a lot of contact last night, but these are the only time grants that I have given so far (mostly because I was just looking to get the times down):

1. 6 seconds given to me for being spun out by Boston on turn one of the Sedona race. I am convinced that this has something to do with the Hawks game last night Very Happy

2. 15 seconds given to Sniper at Sedona for his controller dying in mid-corner.

I am sure there is more, so if you want to suggest that I review something, please post the track that we were at when the contact occurred

One more thing: I probably won't be at the supercar race on Saturday, so somebody else can run the lobby then. I will post the amount of laps we will be doing for each track later in the week. I will probably host a make-up session on the following Wednesday

Yeah sorry about the swerving I haven't been test driving the cars lately. Just don't have enough time in a week. Hopefully when I get this friggin deck finished i can do a little better. If need be give me the boot if I'm to much if a distraction, I won't be offended. Just been into defiance lately, having a blast with this, my racing has gotten slightly better since I joined.

BEEF you got that right, I think I gave you a bump just as Kane or toews scored, kinda like a premonition I think. Hope you'll have a blast at the Rush concert, not sure how they are live now. They were loud as hell during the Roll the Bones toiur.
