I know I lost quite a bit of time when Joe spun me on Silverstone's 1st turn of lap one (no hard feelings though Joe Smile completely understand Wink ).  Even without the spin, I still would have come in behind you Beef...  Epic run my man!

Anyone else having a hard time choosing their cars for this week???

OMG there are so many to choose from...  Also...  I refuse to run the LB Car of Century...  The Honda NSX GT R...  As I said last night, I'm choosing cars I love to drive that are also competitive..  I never have liked the NSX (any of them) so I won't be driving one.

Not long actually... I have a good source...  Please verify that the car you choose is actually a Sports Car though..  You never know when a non-eligible car shows up...

I already have 40 cars in S class.  90% are sportscars.  But I can't help but to buy another one so I can drive something different.

I have decided that I am going to go with a bunch of Lancias for C through A class. Here's my current list:

C class: Lancia 037
B class: Lancia Stratos
A class: Lancia Delta or 037
S class: No clue yet. I am thinking either Aston Vantage, SRT Viper, or Ferrari 599

C class: Lancia 037
B class: 1969 fairlady
A class: 1973 Porsche 911
S class:  SRT Viper,

when I was a kid the local pizza driver had a Datsun 240Z, the same ugly colour as the one I will be driving.
I worked with a guy that owned a 1973 Porsche 911. It too will also be the same ugly colour as his. He absolutely loved that car, I am sure he washed it every weekend.
The last I remember seeing it was in 1992. I was transferred to Opilika Alabama and years later he no longer had that car, sadly he died of cancer a few years ago.
The SRT Viper is the same as I have driven around the track on tires I designed.

No  good story with the lancia , it was just faster than everything else. actually before forza 4
I never even heard of lancia. Forza 4 is the first and only racing game I have ever played.

I think I might be able to make it tomorrow, though I don't have much time for tuning and painting.  Or practicing.

I will be a nightmare.

It's not on your list but I am toying with the 2012 Honda Civic Si for B class.  It says it's a sports car and since I own a 2012 Honda Civic Si irl, I kinda like the idea of using it.

I was going with the Stratos for C but you guys are smarter than me and are using it for B.  Hmmm.  Interesting.

I'm not 100% sure my previous list will be accurate, heres what I am thinking now:

C class: Lancia 037
B class: Lancia Delta (<--- This is NOT a Sports Car, it's a Hatchback Beef... Looks like it's the Stratos for you! -Lou- )
A class: Lancia 037
S class: Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

I just tuned up a RWD Lancia Delta in B class and it destroys the Stratos in everything except top speed. I may be able to fix that with some gearing tricks though... Also, I realized that the Alpha 8C was my favorite sports car in S class and it is reasonably fast, so I decided to go with it.

My Week 8 Roster....  It took FOREVER to choose!!  LOL

C = 2002 Toyota MR-S
B = Lancia Stratos
A = BMW Z4 M Coupe
S = Ferrari Challenge Stradale

That said, I may or may not be on in time tonight...  Please give me until 9:30 Central (your time Beef) to try and make it...  If by 9:30 I am not there, start, and I will host a makeup tomorrow...

Also...  Beef...  The lancia delta is NOT eligible...  It's a Hatchback not a Sports Car...

And Yes...  The Toyota MR-S is listed as a Sports Car and not a Roadster....  Hell if I know, but it's true...!  Smile

Last night was a blast.  And we had a good size lobby too.  Again I apologize to everyone for my rustiness,  especially reus  and Boston John.  Reus  needs  extra points because all the roughing up I gave him on Sedona.

So I finally made it to a race last night.

Completely unprepared.  Just joined Beef's invite.  And I'm apparently racing sports cars.  OK, sure.  Let's just hope my garage has some cars.

1st Race, I got me a Porsche.  Think it's the 944.  But not sure.  In any case, starting in the 2nd row, inside (3rd?).  Great start, into 1st going into turn 1.  I held the lead for half a lap.  Then Beef and Red come storming by.  Eric had a beat on me.  But he decided to go drag racing.  Ended up 3rd (I think).

2nd race, once again, raid my garage, I got a 240.  Sure, why not.  Start at the back.  I'm still at the back after turn 1.  But some folks slowed for that corner, I made up a few spots.  I'm on the outside heading into turn 2.  And then BAMMO!  Victim of somebody completely missing their brake point.  Way at the back after correcting myself.  And then it's on.  Time to chase people down.

3rd race.  Chose the wrong car for this one.  360 Challenge.  And that thing handled awful.  I was racing Petty for quite a bit.  And Low taking out Menes repeatedly.  I didn't deserve 4th in this race.

4th race.  Bring out the Cayman.  I follow Boston through turn 1 as he bullied his way to the front.  He went wide on turn 2.  I went inside.  Then we've got low with his 900hp monster.  Just walking away on the straight.  We get to turn 5 (I think, under the bridge).  I'm way outside cuz I just don't trust Low.  I assumed he would've gone straight through the turn.  This left the door open for Petty.  He got position but came out of the corner heading for the grass.  Pass him and then I'm keeping Red at bay.

Nordshleiffe in the Datsun.  That bouncing gave me a headache.  I gave Boston room in a turn and he still managed to punt me.  Highlight of this one would be pushing beef into Red causing Red to roll.

Round 2.  The 458 just wasn't meant for that track.  Not compared to everybody else.  I could close on Petty in Sector C.  But that was it for me.

Had fun.  Hopefully I can make it to the other races.

I failed to acknowledge the timezone so despite my only-a-small-bit-of-preparation, it was all for naught.  Sigh.  AND I MISSED MARM.  Next week.

Next week.

FM4 U2SC Championship - Page 7 Empty Re: FM4 U2SC Championship

Post by beefsupreme42 Sun Jun 16, 2013 2:45 pm

Last night was the most entertaining night of racing I have ever experienced. I think that it was guaranteed to be a great night as soon as low showed up. Here is a summary of last night's races:

 LOW IS THE NEW BEEF

...that is all Very Happy

I know there was a lot of contact last night, so if you feel that you or somebody else should have time taken off of their race or added on as a penalty, please let me know. I will take it into consideration and review the replays to determine how much time should be taken off or added on. My suggestion: if you are going to suggest a penalty for somebody other than yourself, please PM me - I know that most of us won't take offense to it, but you can never be sure... Just so it is clear, I will be the deciding factor as to whether or not your suggested penalty/time grant (if you can call it that...) is accepted.

We should probably plan on a make-up session so Lou, wolfman, and some others can get a time in for this week. If you already raced and you also race in a make-up session, I will record your fastest session time (not individual race times) as your official time. Here is the schedule for those who will be racing in the make-up session:

Race 1: C class Hockenheim National 6 laps
Race 2: B class Sunset Full 6 laps
Race 3: A class Sedona Full Reverse 4 laps
Race 4: S class Motegi Full 5 laps

Ok, back to last night...

The Green Hell Torture Race (yes, that is what I am going to call it...) was a blast. We found out that the del-slow wasn't really that slow (although reus seemed to have a tough time with it after I decided to smash into everybody in front of me at the start), and that the Sniper's jeep doesn't adapt well to turns or bumps. We should definitely turn this into some sort of contest: Who can build the car that is the toughest to drive around the Nurburgring. Just a thought...

Later, we got into some drag racing in every single class. I remember winning the F class drag race in my vVandura and that Eric's cars were unfairly fast from D through S class. I now owe Eric 3 cars that are each worth up to 250,000 CR and I owe Petty 3 cars that are each worth up to 500,000 CR. I have decided to give away even more crap, so here is what the new list for gift cars will look like:

Petty: 3 cars, up to 500,000 CR each
Eric: 3 cars, up to 250,000 CR each
Reus: 3 cars, up to 100,000 CR each
Low: 3 cars, up to 50,000 CR each
Sniper: 3 cars, up to 25,000 CR each

now that extra .1 of a point that reus gave to himself for totaling up the points is actually going to pay off Very Happy

After we did the drag racing, we did some car hockey. I set the front and rear grip handicap to 75% like you do for the "ice driving simulator". This was really interesting and I thought it was a lot of fun. Again, another great idea for a short series.

Before I forget, Thanks lou for telling me that the delta is a hatch. I didn't actually see it till now, but thanks anyway Wink . The good thing is that I decided to use the stratos almost immediately after I posted that

That was a great night of racing and I hope next week is just as entertaining Very Happy

Hey I actually get stuff for completely failing some races.  Awesome!  But last night was a blast.  Some people "coming back from the dead" really helped.

Sorry about missing last night guys.  I was helping Dana and the girls get ready for their trip to the Smokies this morning, and I was unable to get on in time. (I drive up on Wednesday and will miss this Saturday's race too, but I will hold a make-up next Sunday evening.

Make up Session will start tonight at 9pm Eastern time (8pm Central) as long as Wolf can make it...  Anyone else who wants to come is welcome....

race 1: I struggled at Hockenheim, caught up in traffic and never got  going
race 2: a rather uneventful race for me as I hot lapped most of it.
race3 : my 1973 911 was made for this course, fantastic acceration, decent speed, fairly good handling and amazing brakes.
I got ramed hard on lap 1 as broke for the 1st set of esses. There is quicksand at that series of small turns and a foray off the track can be costly. The rammer and a couple of his buddies went off which allowed me a big lead. By lap 2 beef was looking for a passing solution
but it was both risky and difficult in the twisty sector 2. Beef patiently waited for an opportunity and it came as I was punted into quicksand. That dropped me to fourth.
Into 3rd as low ( AKA the new beef) graciously allowed me to pass him.
Lap 3. The new Beef missed his breaking point or he underestimated how hard I like to break. I like to be setup perfect at the apex to maximise my exit speed. it works for me
but a few people in club struggle with my style. The old beef waits for a breaking corner and either passes me wide or in tight depending on the situation. the new punt dropped me to 6th, then 5th as low insists on playing fair. with just alittle more than a lap to go I gained but could not catch the leaders.

race 4 with me driving Boston johns viper I was looking forward to a good race.
I broke late sending Boston off. I slowed up to give him the place back and got rammed by a 900 HP monster, off I went. then boston came from off the track to knock me off the track. lap 1 was a dud.
lap 2, I was chasing a 900 hp monster who struggled at every turn and right with him was boston in his smooth handling viper, this was a blockbuster disaster just waiting to happen.
I didn't dare attempt to pass them as they were nudging ,calling out and battling not just for position but to hold it together on the track. finally they collided and both found some extra deep sand to get stuck in. Its amazing how that works, its always funny when it happens to somebody else. early lap 3 the monster blew by me, totally missed the turn
and I hot lapped the rest of the race.

extra races, I did not have clue how to drive the del slow, no brakes, tires spinning in every gear, it wont drive straight.

In hockey I took the very first car in my list the F200 Hudson hornet.
It actually wasn't a bad car, both heavy and a lack of power, helped in this kind of game.

finally drag racing, I'll post the final standings just for fun.

F: Beef, sniper, reus
E: Low , sniper , reus
D: Eric, low , Reus
C: Petty, beef, reus
B: Beef, Low, petty
A: Eric, beef, low
S: eric, petty, beef
R3: beef, petty, low
R2: petty, eric beef
R1: Beef, Reus, petty
X: reus, beef, petty

final drag race standings.
beef 20, eric 11, reus 9.1 low 9 sniper 4.

Yeah reus  needs some kind of extra  points for all my harassment.  I think it was more me being rusty than it was braking style.  that and the fact I'm still not use to being in the midst of the pack while racing lol. My Porsche  rocket was a blast if not flat out hilarious.  Didn't realize how much I missed you guys until last night.
