IMSA Porsche GT3 Style racing? (read OP before answering the poll)
Spec GT3 Series Races (IMSA Style)
Been toying around with the idea to do an IMSA Porsche GT3 style set of races...
Inspiration:
Before I start working on builds, tracks, etc. Who would be interested? I know the Porsche Expansion pack is required, but I was thinking we could hold two additional 15 minute races each week after the U2SC Championship races on Saturdays...
Each week there would be two GT3 races each ~15 minutes using actual Tracks IMSA GT3 series uses.
The cars would all have the same parts and PI rating, but would be allowed personalized tuning.
Thoughts?

Re: Spec GT3 Series Races (IMSA Style)
If people without the Porsche Expansion are interested, we could always do the series with one of these instead... (not all, but we would pick one everyone would run the same car & parts, just personalized tunes - base tune provided by me)...
2010 BMW Z4 GT3 <--- This is my choice!
2005 BMW #2 BMW M3 GTR
2001 BMW #6 Prototype Technology Group M3 GTR
2005 Nissan #46 Dream Cube's ADVAN Z
2003 Subaru #77 CUSCO SUBARU ADVAN IMPREZA
If we go Porsche it would be one of the following (not all, but we would pick one everyone would run the same car & parts, just personalized tunes - base tune provided by me)...
2005 Porsche #66 AXA Racing 911 GT3 Cup
2008 Porsche #2 Gruppe Orange Racing 911 GT3 Cup <--- This is my choice
2011 Porsche #23 Alex Job Racing 911 GT3 Cup
Depending on the interest and whether or not we do this with Porsche or a non DLC equivalent, I will put up a Poll to choose the car...

So... Not all of the tracks are in the game, so I've kept the schedule (8 weeks) just like it is for the 2013 season, but I've substituted tracks... http://imsachallenge.com/season/schedule
The Tracks:
Week 1 = Sebring (on IMSA GT3 schedule)
Week 2 = Laguna Seca (on IMSA GT3 schedule)
Week 3 = Maple Valley (substitute for Watkins Glen International)
Week 4 = Sedona Club (substitute for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park)
Week 5 = Road America (on IMSA GT3 schedule)
Week 6 = Sunset Full (substitute for Baltimore Street Circuit)
Week 7 = Infineon Raceway IRL (substitute for Circuit of the Americas)
Week 8 = Road Atlanta (on IMSA GT3 schedule)

Re: Spec GT3 Series Races (IMSA Style)
Winner would be determined just like it is in the U2SC Championship Series...
Each "heat" is setup to be roughly 12-15 minutes long
The fastest total combined time wins...
Grid is Random for both races...

I would say it would be a great thing to do after the U2SC championship series is complete. We should have a good 2 or 3 months left after that series completes before the Xbox One and FM5 come out. It doesn't matter when we run it for me, I will definitely be there. I think it's a great idea

This does sound interesting. 2005 GT3 RSR for me. I love the wide body kit on it.

Probably not going with RSR cars.... Looking at the ones that are just into the R3 range and building/tuning from there.... I'll start working on some sample builds and tunes.. Look for them in the club garage!
