Around the World in 80 minutes
Around the World in 80 minutes
POSTPONED until Sat, June 23rd - Porsche ADDED!
Race Time: 21:30 EDT / 02:30 BST
I have an idea for a one-off race... Around the World in 80 minutes (or less).... This will be a 90 minute event with 3 tracks and 3 different cars from 3 different continents in 3 different classes. Each participant will pick 3 cars consisting of one from North America, One from Europe, and one from Asia. I will generate a list of available cars for each continent, as well as class. Damage will be set to limited, and there will be no engine swaps or drive-train conversions; however, you are allowed to change the aspiration. Everything else is up to you!
Allowed Assists: ABS, full line, normal steering, and manual trans.
I will tell you that the classes will be B, A and S, so any of the tracks can host any of the classes. This also gives everyone a taste of what they like. Some of us like the lower classes and some of us like the higher classes. I think think this would be a great challenge, especially to complete in one 90 minute session. The winner will be the one with the lowest combined time, and I will have some prize cars to give out that match the class and region...
Any takers? BTW... We'll probably do this on a weekend since it will be a 80 minute event....
Here is the car, class and modified Track list.... I will also be expecting some killer liveries for this one.... Total driving time should be between 75 and 80 minutes based on club leader-board times. Everyone should probably plan on 2 hours total time in the lobby....
Asia - Twin Ring Full - A-Class Modern JDM Sports Cars - 10 Laps
North America - Mazda Laguna Seca B-Class Classic Muscle - 10 Laps
Europe - Silverstone Grand Prix - S-Class Euro Super Sports - 10 Laps
NOTE: There should be no DLC cars on the list. If any of the cars are DLC cars, please let me know and I will pick an alternate....

Dude, just host and we go from there.
That being said, I'm in.
Make it a "Nation" (to some extent) type of deal as opposed to Continental.
Silverstone - UK
LeMans - French
Hock..., Nurb... - Ze Germans
Mugello - Italy
Catalunya - Spain (SEAT and who else?)

Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Good idea, but that doesn't go with the "Around the World in 80 Days" Theme....
Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
rule question: do each participant have to run a different class at each track?
This is based on the overall winner with the lowest time. Kinda hurts if you stick with B and somebody else sticks with S.
Not that I'm a "must win" type of driver.

Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Each driver will pick 1 car from each set. You will have 3 cars for this even... I've added the Cars, Classes and Tracks to the OP...
Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
In...already got cars picked out
This will be fun...challenging too, changing up cars is always interesting.

Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Change 1 condition as well... there will be no Drive-Train conversions... The only allowed conversion is Aspiration... Everything else is open...
Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Sounds like fun. I'll see if I can make it

Thats my pick of the litter. Ill do my best with the paint work. Im terribly slow but getting better. Just finished up my M5 earlier. Took me about two evenings to do when somebody better would of done it in an hour. But its the first I have done that I can say I created each piece.

Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
This is now up on the Club Calendar... I've set it for 9:30pm EDT on 5/19 (Saturday), to sorta open the door for the EU guys... Unfortunately, that is the earliest I can be on without my wife killing me... Let me know if that is a good time or not. If not I can push this to 10:30pm EDT or I can plead for an exception from the Wife to make it earlier...
Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Just found this event while doing some poking around on the forums and calendar. I'll definitely get started on some interesting paints for my three cars... just have to decide what three to use!
Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Thanks for bringing this up again. I should start tuning and designing my cars. I think I will use the evo, the charger and the MP4-12C

Re: Around the World in 80 minutes
Well, you can hit the ± on the right side beside each person's post. I hit the + on SW and brought him back to 0.
Not sure if it's working right or what the threshold is because he still has more points than posts.
