Favorite Moments In Your Life As A Fan

Ok, I want to first just let anyone who doesn't know, I'm am a HUGE NASCAR fan. More importantly, I am a HUGE Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. I was outside having a beer with my dad yesterday when Jen let me know there were only 18 laps to go in the Michigan race and Jr. was leading. Quick back drop for anyone who doesn't already know, Dale Earnhardt Jr. had not won a race since June 2008 (at this same track coincidentally) and it was almost 4 years exactly to the day.

So I ran inside to watch the end of the race, with every lap that ticked off, my heart was pounding heavier and heavier praying so hard that no cautions came out becuase his lead was getting bigger lap by lap. Here they come around turn 4.......... AND AFTER FOUR YEARS OF WAITING, DALE JR FINALLY IS BACK IN VICTORY LANE.

To say I was excited is the biggest understatement of the year. Let's just put it this way, most of the windows and all the doors in my house were closed and Jen and my parents heard my screaming in joy outback in the yard. It was one of the best and happiest moments as a Junior fan to see him FINALLY back in Victory Lane again after waiting so long and staying loyal and faithful just made it that much sweeter.

So with all that in mind, it got me thinking, what are some of the best moments in your life as a fan of something? Sports, Racing, whatever it may be, what is or are the moments where you felt best about being a fan?

I will follow that story up with the only other time in my life I was ever that excited about being a fan is when my Philadelphia Phillies (my other team I am super hardcore about) finally won me a World Series in 2008. Nothing has felt better than that. My first official championship as a Philadelphia Sports fan.

My Ducks winning the Rose Bowl for the first time in ~60 years last year. Not real big into sports but NCAA Football and NCAA Basketball are my two. College sports are SO much better than their pro variant.
