Club Bounty Rival II
Its time for another club bounty hunter event! this time you have to beat my time around the top gear track in the reasonably priced car event! You can find it under the top gear rivals category. My current time is a 1:41.548, putting me at #5 in the club. I might improve my time but I will only improve my time up until the halfway point to the deadline to beat my time. One other thing: any improvements I make to my time during this will be done with all assists off (I usually can't race without the racing line, so it will be a challenge for me).
whoever can beat my time will recieve a Kia cee'd with this Dog the Bounty Hunter design:
The deadline to beat my time is Friday July 20th and the deadline for me to post a new time is Saturday July 14th
Prizes will be gifted out at the beginning of august because I will be on vacation for the week after the end of this competition.
So, do you have what it takes to beat my time in the reasonably priced car?

Very nice livery, beef
I'll definitely have a shot at this. Are flying laps allowed (if they are possible for that event)?

standing starts are the only laps you can run in this event (its the only way to set a time in this rivals event)shinnsoon wrote: Are flying laps allowed (if they are possible for that event)?

I know, it gets pretty frustrating after a while. at the track isn't very long, so it doesn't take up too much time

Re: Club Bounty Rival II
Not to mention that the Top Gear track suffers from multiple personality disorder or some other mental malady when it comes to clean/dirty. In that Viper challenge I've taken out all the cones on the inside of the first real corner and it doesn't care, but let my rear tyre just gently brush a blade of grass on the outside and it's all over.
But I haven't driven that event in a long time. Probably not even this year. It's going to be interesting to see how my times compare. Especially now that I've learnt how to use a gearshift ...

Well, after the Viper challenge, I think I might have some better lines for this challenge.

Re: Club Bounty Rival II
here are some tips to get your laps a bit faster
Turn 1 (2nd gear): stay as close to the right side of the track as you can and just after the track curves slightly to the left, aim for the inside of the track and brake a little after you clip the inside white line. brake in a straight line so you don't go too far into the corner. you should have a wide entry to the corner making for a clean exit toward chicago. make sure you don't go inside the curb because it will make your lap dirty
Turn 2 (2nd gear): you can cut the entry to this one and still stay clean if you go between the last 2 cones. make sure you don't clip the first of them because it will make your lap dirty. a little bit after you get through the cones, hit the brakes and you shouldn't go wide. go through the corner as close to the inside line as you can and get on the gas when you are pointed down the straight to the hammerhead. You can go a little inside the line, but don't hit the cones. If you clip the grass on the outside, you will get a dirty lap. there is also a point at the exit (this is if you exit wide) that will randomly spin the back end out from the car and it will destroy your lap time
Turn 3 (2nd gear): I haven't quite got the braking point down for this one, but I usually start braking right before I get to the sign that says 50. you can clip the inside of the corner on the entry and on the exit a little bit. it really helps you improve your time if you can get this right. take this corner around 35 to 40 mph and stay away from the cones on the outside, if you hit them, you will get a dirty lap.
Turn 4 (3rd gear): you can go as far onto the curb as you like and still get a clean lap here. go flat out but make sure you are taking the turn smoothly. you should be at 90 mph when you get to the next turn.
Turn 5 (3rd gear): if you enter wide you should be able to keep your speed up for the exit. you can take all 4 wheels off the track and still maintain a clean lap if you hit it in the right spot. exit the turn as wide as you can while still staying on the track. again, smooth driving is the key here.
Turn 6 (3rd gear): Brake at the sign with an arrow pointing left and aim for the apex of the corner. you can clip it a little bit but not very much. if you get it right, you should be able to take the turn at about 65 mph with a wide exit.
Turn 7 (2nd gear): Brake at the white line across the entire width of the track and aim for the apex. it is very hard to clip the inside and stay clean, so I recommend not trying to do it. you should be able to take this corner at somewhere between 45 and 50 mph

I updated my time last night...closer. I think I might be able to get you.
Believe it or not, I'm still working on the one from last month too...dying to set a clean lap time in that one

yeah, I was wondering why you weren't number 1 on the club leaderboard then I noticed that you hadn't improved your time since january. You should be able to get up thereMarkve91 wrote:Thanks! I don't know if I have another second in me to beat your mark but it's been fun seeing how much I've improved at this event (and game) since setting a time back in Jan/Feb. I moved up over 70k spots and knocked off a good four or five seconds! Currently sitting at 12th in the club with a 1:42.550.

I feel the same xray, I have tried and tried but I just can't seem to find that extra half a second. I improved my lap big time since Beef started the event but Beef you are too fast. In my next post I will vent about how unfair this competition is for us lesser drivers, lol. I hope viper can find that extra .050 of a second to beat the time. So close you can almost taste it.
