So, i was thinking of making an r3 ALMS/LMS style race. I can come up with a schedule and cars people can use. 2 people per team.
Before i do any of the planning and get all hyped about it, is anyone interested. We can multi-class. Or single class. options?
These would be the cars. Can use any. 2 per car. NO LB Cars, any tunes. It will be like a 10 week thing. Race 1 track per week. We can get super official and put in qualifying times, fastest laps, and winners for points. All cars can be built up to 800 R3. No restrictions. Even amount of tracks will favor each car, 5 short for handling tracks, and 5 long tracks for fast cars. LMK plz.

Im going to select a few tracks and see what you all are thinking. I was thinking of making this a 2 month series type ordeal. Qualify one night, say Friday night. And then race on Saturday. And we can all come up with an agreeable time for both days, unless u guys want to do qualifying, and then just race right after like we usually do. I just figured, if we qualify a day prior to the race people can work on times and getting faster? Knowing what others times are?
Anyways looking at about 10 races total, starting next weekend if we can get people. April 6th will be the first race "day" And finishing the series on the 8th of June.
Below is a list of the tracks with mileage and the base time it took me to get around the course on my first lap. I used the times below to figure the amount of laps to reach a 30 minute race.

Re: R3 Grand Prix© Sponsered by VlAGRA!
I would love to do it, I've been having a lot of fun in R3 and like to race the GTs anytime I pop in Forza now.
Unfortunately, it will be much tougher to get the word out now that so many people have stopped checking the forums. I think some of the more serious racers might come back for this type of event, I could try to message people and check interest. Yes?

Hell yes. I'm not gunna setup the first race for another 2-3 weeks so we can have time to get ahold of people, even then. Depending on how many we have. I wouldn't mind giving it a little bit to let people tune. Do we have any other way of getting in touch with people other then the forums?

The forum PM system should go to email, so that's probably the best way. I have most people in my XBL friends list, but I'm probably one message away from annoying the hell out of everybody, so need to pass on that.

I like the track selection. I will be on tonight to race with you for sure. we will be doing the demolition derby series race around 11:00 eastern time, so we should be able to get quite a bit of practice in.

Re: R3 Grand Prix© Sponsered by VlAGRA!
I'm likely out tonight, family in town and people will be sleeping all over the place.
The Friday/Saturday setup should work nicely for me (I hope). I would vote for more of a 30 minute race, think some people (especially those who aren't as fast) would be scared away by committing to 45 minutes of getting lapped. Plus my attention span is about 15 minutes, but that's my problem, and I'll give the longer race a shot if that's what everyone else wants.
I will race whatever, I love the McLaren and the Vipers, but will drive anything if my teammate has a preference. I also enjoy tuning and tweaking for different tracks, so would be happy to pair up with someone who doesn't want to tune. Speaking of which, how does the team thing work? Will there be separate standings for individuals and combined team points? I imagine that's what you are thinking, just wanted to check.
Last question, how does qualifying on a separate night work? I know you can set the grid by lobby points if qual. and the race happen back-to-back, not sure how it works if they happen in separate lobbies though. Sorry for all the questions, just want to get a feel for the details so I can host a lobby if needed sometime.

-I think were just going to do individual points, it doesnt look like were going to have enough people to put together the type of event i wanted to, i was looking to do something like the Formula 1 Racing circuit. Drivers and Constructors points. But clearly we have like 6 people total atm. So im just going to do individual points.

-I just did the qualifying on friday night, and then took a picture of the results, and then the next night, prior to the race we just started a race set to 1 lap, and then crossed the finish line in order of qualifying. And it worked fine. Also, i dont know if people want to run the qualifier as a time limit, or as having a few laps to set your good time. We did 45 laps setup, and then just let a few people run the track at a time and everyone else would pull off into the grass and let people get some hot laps in. Its fun.
So its been announced, i think im going to change all the lap amounts set to 30 min races.
Someone help me come up with a points system.
And Tracks are announced and locked.
And Joe, if u want to race with me in the #92 BMW rahal u can. I have a good setup for it that handles great. Its actually a lot better then its rated. It handles as good as a mosler, and has acceleration like the Hennessy.

Yeah, that's cool, I'd be happy to team up with you. I know Marm kinda likes that Beamer but I've not had as much luck with it. Send me your tune when you have a chance, I have never taken the time to come up with a good one for that car and would love to try it out.
Beef's suggestion sounds good, and I also kinda liked the system Lou used for his series in January (50/47/45/43/42/41/...) as it can accommodate as many or as few people as needed.
I'm sure Marm will want in on this once he's done vacationing and such. It would be nice to get Lou as well, but good luck prying him away from his new addiction . Mark might also want in, but he's been limited on game time recently. Regardless, think we have a good shot at getting a workable turnout.
And may I suggest we call this the Viagra GT3 Challenge or something similar? I can work on a team livery, and if Beef has the time maybe he would kindly draw up a series decal for everyone (since he's a pretty damn good painter)?

oh, and I think I want to switch over to team porsche - after I tested it at laguna against vlagra's BMW, I feel pretty confident in my ability to win with it. thanks to frank for the amazing tune

:p
And Joe, ill send u the tune asap. Its a bit loose in the rear, so you can feel free to adjust it. But i like the rear end loose because i can get out of corners faster. Honestly i think we should switch to team Corvette. I love that car more then any other car in the world.
Why isnt the HTML code working for my first post. It looks retarded and all messed up.

I'm interested but it'll be another 2 weeks before I have time for forza. Working a lot of 12s here. Gotta love being under staffed.

Just so I can get an idea for series logos and number plates, are we going to call this the Viagra GT3 Challenge or the R3 Grand Prix sponsored by Viagra?
