What inspires you to race?

I got bored and watched this whole video on the youtubes alongggg time ago. And i still sit back make a sammich and get some kool aid, grape forsure you know, Detroit styles. And then i start this movie up, and it gets me in the mood to race and dominate.

Long story short, What motivates you to race, tune, paint, crash into other people?

I'm really not sure, its more of something thats just a part of my life I guess. Before I was born, my dad raced motorcycles (I guess he was pretty good at it because he has a couple boxes of plaques for all his top 3 finishes) but then he stopped and I never got to see any of his races. I have been watching F1, MotoGP, and all sorts of other kinds of racing for as long as I can remember. I was even named after this year's World Superbike champion, Max Biaggi (Yes he has been racing for a very long time). Really its just a part of my life and its always been something that I have been interested in

It's an exercise in focus and concentration that I haven't found anywhere else. I've tried pool, music, and other hobbies but none of those held my interest. Racing, however, has me by the proverbial balls. It requires me to concentrate and tie down my wandering mind. I still lose control quite a bit, but I'm getting better.

It stokes the competitive fire without making me mad. I've tried team sports and league shooters, but those leave me frustrated or incomplete. Racing is about me and the car. Period. Others can do better and that's OK. It doesn't frustrate me. Rather, it fascinates me. It inspires me to learn what they know and, someday, give them a hard time on the track.

I love the mix of the academic and the execution. I can read about racing and it interests me. Math and physics usually bore me but in the context of speed it makes sense and I enjoy studying it. I look forward to taking classes to learn more. There is a science to all of this that I spent most of my life being ignorant of. Not anymore.

Beef, that's hot to have the heritage in your blood lines. You ever think about racing a real bike or car?

Nub, I couldn't agree more, just like every other kid I hate school, and currently I'm in school for aerodynamics, just cause I want to build my own race car and be able to successfully, competitively race it, just like Dan gurney and his eagle.

At this point (1+ year of the game), it's the lobbies and the good group of people that keeps me going.

I don't dominate and kick ass, so that's not an incentive. Improving.my times is always a factor.

My love of cars starts with my father. He loved cars in his youth, and passed it on to me. Ever since I can remember, I have LOVED all things Auto, Moto, Air and water... If it went fast, made a beautiful noise, and looked good, I LOVED it (and still do). Sports Cars, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, 4x4's, Baja, Motocross, AMA Super Bikes, Formula 1, WRC, etc.... Pretty much everything except Circle Track crap (I've never been a fan of NASCAR or the circle track moto stuff)...

As a kid (70's and early 80's), my favorite TV shows were "The Duke of Hazzard", "The A-Team", "Knight Rider" and "CHiPs" mainly for the cars and car chases (I was too young to love Dukes for Daisy Duke)... And any movie that had cool cars/planes/boats/motorcycles and/or bad ass chase scenes.

Now as an adult, I still love cars and racing in most of it's forms (still don't care for circle track stuff at all). I also love watching programs about cars... "Top Gear" and "Fifth Gear" are two of my favorites, but I also watch "The Powerblock" on Spike every weekend (2 hours of car lubbin), and I can watch Velocity and Speed channels 24/7.

If I had the time and the money, I would build myself a track day toy and take it to events all around the South East. I'd even join the SCCA and look into some of the Skip Barber stuff... Since I don't have either the money or the time, I just have FM4 to keep me happy! It might not be a full SIM, but it's got everything I want... Good Physics, Great Graphics, and that sound!!! That GLORIOUS sound!

Now

As for painting. Nothing motivates me to paint. As evidenced by my cars.

I just don't care much about it. I certainly admire the talent and patience everybody has. I'm just too lazy to put any semblance of effort into it. Easier to make ugly and go with that.

Yeah I do quite a bit. I figure since I have the opportunity to learn from somebody who truly understands how to manipulate a motorcycle enough to be able to win multiple races, I should really take advantage of it. As I said earlier, I have always been interested in racing, and if I was able to make it onto a track it would make for a great thrill. Maybe if I am lucky I will eventually find a bike for a decent price so that I can start learning. I used to have a small dirt bike (I have long outgrown that by now) that I would ride around the yard almost every day, so hopefully some of the basics have stuck in my head - it would make the learning process go by much quicker

I remember when I was in 5th grade, I used to go right to Forza 2 after an episode of TopGear. But now I feel like racing after an overly aggravating series of call of duty matches. One time I knocked a full 2 seconds off of one of my lap times just from being pissed off. I used to have an atv that I tried to drive as quickly as possible around a track I had set in my yard. I also used to "race" my Hot Wheels cars on a town track rug thing when I was real young. NFS Most Wanted inspired me to do that sometimes.

And I'm with Marm. I have no motivation to paint. My designed cars are usually from Beef. All my cars are different colors with black wheels.

Well, at least you go to the trouble of asking somebody to provide you with a livery. I don't even go that far.

Hell, the Mazda was the most effort I've ever put into a car.

Same here. That Falken livery on my Mazda was the best thing i've ever done in any design tool for anything.
