42 was also Lee Petty's number in the fifties. That's an iconic # in American racing (back when NASCAR was interesting). You can probably find a bunch of period-specific liveries for the '57 Chevy Bel Air, if you're into that sort of thing.

As for the movies...I've never seen Driven, either. I'm told it was horrible...and I can't stand Stallone. However, Le Mans is a classic. Not a bad story, and incredible footage, most of which was shot for the film (as opposed to stock footage, the use of which was common in Hollywood in those days).

In the sim racing circles I used to run around in, there was a guy who's online name was HPI-RCR...and his son also raced RC, and was into Xbox so when I saw THIS hpi, I thought I had made a connection...and was going to start singing 'It's a small world....' rabbit
